Feline Friends of PAWS Chicago presents York

Breed: DSH
Gender: Male
Claws: Yes
Age:
2 years

Special Needs: FIV +

Rescuer Info: Yvette Pina

Comments: York was Trap, Neutered, Returned 1.5 yrs ago,. Since then he has become friendlier and friendlier. He had taken residence in an abandoned building next door to his colony caretaker. York allowed himself to be scooped up (literally) off the street when he was ready to become an indoor only cat.

York has tested positive for the FIV virus. Feline immunodeficiencyvirus (FIV) is a type of virus called a retrovirus. FIV is not always a death sentence for cats, as they can live relatively healthily as carriers and transmitters of the disease for many years. York is not on any medication and currently healthy.

It is preferred that York goes to a home as an only cat, or with a cat that also carried the FIV virus. He is currently living in a foster home as an only cat. Recently, he has had one tooth pulled (top canine) as it was cracked and causing an infection at the root.

York is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and treated for fleas. His adoption fee of $60 goes towards rescued cats. To meet and possibly adopt this fabulous cat, please contact Yvette at ympina@gmail.com or 773-968-9477.
