I adopted Pierre two months ago as a companion to my
other cat,
Sebastian. Sebastian is 8 years old and Pierre is not quite
two. Well, Pierre has given Sebastian a run for his money!
Pierre is a very active cat,
loves to run around the house and play with toys. In fact,
my home had few toys when Pierre first came home, but I have
acquire a bunch to keep Pierre happy. His favorite is a
bungee-like item that attaches to a doorknob with feathers
on the end - he devours the feathers! It seems to satisfy his |
|
hunting needs. I admire Pierre's spirit and he is a very
affectionate cat. He enjoys morning snuggles in my bed purring
the whole time. Thank you PAWS and to Pierre's rescuer and
foster parent. I'm so glad to have him in my home. |

Dear PAWS Chicago,
We adopted Emerald (who now goes by Emma or Emma-Pooh) from PAWS 2 years
ago and we cannot tell you how incredibly lucky we are to have her as part of
our family. We have now since moved to Los Angeles and Emma spends her days
trying to hunt down insects (or birds on a good day) on the balcony or she is
sprawled out under the sun for her |
 |
|
afternoon naps. Emma is extremely talkative and affectionate. She loves being
close to people and she adores putting her paws on top of ours as a way of
communicating her affections to us. She is thoroughly spoiled by everyone around
her and she does not hesitate to 'demand' for her nightly treats before bedtime!
Emma has adopted her new identity as a real Californian cat (she prefers babe)
with great pride and we just want to thank everyone at PAWS for rescuing Emma
and for helping her find a home with us! Thank you PAWS! - Catherine & Derek |

Thank you PAWS Chicago for introducing me to Bobby! I
wasn't even
planning on getting a second dog, but somehow Bobby
convinced me. At thirteen, he has more energy than most
younger dogs. He loves to go on walks and play in the yard,
and is getting along very well with his co-dog. Bobby
is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog and is a great
poster-dog for adopting older dogs! Thanks! - Cameron |

Last summer, I decided I should have a
dog of my own. I looked online, and found a cute Maltese named
Gimlet on the PAWS Chicago website. He looked a little
scruffy, but had such a sweet smile and big buggy eyes that I
was instantly enchanted. I was excited when I drove to the
PETCO store that Saturday. However, what I did find was a
scrawny, barky dog making a scene outside the store! I almost
changed my mind, but decided to adopt him anyway. I'm so glad
I did! Scamp (his new name) is a wonderful |
 |
|
companion who follows me around and nibbles peanut butter from
my finger. He literally leaps up when it's "time to go out," and
loves to jump up on the couch to cuddle. Scamp has brought so
much joy to my life, that I can't imagine being without him!

HI PAWS,
Here's just a quick not from one of your old residents
Sparky. I was adopted to my new parents when my Dad
saw my picture on the website and came down to PAWS to
adopt me. I have the best life ever! I go for long walks,
hang out at the park, bask in the sun in my huge back yard,
and have a great time. Thanks for rescuing me from the
shelter.

Hello PAWS!
Thank you for bringing Gabby and Mary Lou (PAWS names
Bailey and Ty) tome last April! Toni M. was so helpful,
she called right away when these sweet 6-month old sisters
arrived at your door. She knew it would be a purrfect match!
The girls have brought so much happiness and joy: Gabby
with her hysterical running commentary, frequent high jumps,
and love of paper towels, and Mary Lou's back flips, loud purrs and |

love of toiletries
(such a girly girl!). Life wouldn't be the same without them. Thank you again! |

Hi there! This is Roman, Kennedy and Franklin
speaking! When we first came to PAWS we were only 3 weeks old and needed to have
everything done for us because we were so tiny. We're so grateful that PAWS took
such good care of us and introduced us to a foster family that ended up loving
us all so much that they adopted all three of us!! As you can see we've grown up
quite a bit, and have also |
become
quite spoiled! We spend our days playing with our other kitty and doggie
siblings, our humans, and playing in the kitchen sink! We're living our lives to
the fullest and loving every second of it! We've also heard that our baby
picture is going to be on every single PAWS Chicago flyer very soon! We'll be
famous! Be sure to check it out, and see just how far we've come! |

We remember the day well. My wife and I wanted two kittens
to bring home. On the PAWS Website we found the brothers
(then known as Percy and Tigger), and knew
they were the ones for us. We hurried to PAWS the very next
day and were directed immediately to where the two brothers
were sleeping against a third little fur-ball, which
turned out to be their little sister. Well, there was no way
I was going to take three cats home!
|
|
Until I held her… Fast forward to today, where Mycroft, Basil
and Watson rule a three-story house in Lincoln Park. The three
siblings play together, sleep together, and belong together.
That day at PAWS changed their lives and ours! We
remember it well… |

Leo is giving me great joy and loves his new home
(including a lot of great toys!). Within a few days he was
napping, eating, and playing well with his new stepbrother
(Jacques) -- and within one week they were grooming each
other! We are all less lonely now and we are so thankful
to PAWS for finding Leo and introducing us.

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Just thought
we’d send a quick note to let you know how Ghreta is
doing. She has adjusted very well to her new home. She is such
a sweet girl and a real joy. Thank you for the opportunity to
make her a part our family.

Hi PAWS!
We just wanted to thank you for letting us bring
Agnes (PAWS name Amber) into our family last April. She has brought us so
much happiness! She's gotten her 10-year-old brother Mackie off the couch and
back in shape (for a stubborn old Corgi, that's quite an accomplishment!). Our
kitty Vandalia wasn't so happy with her arrival at first but now they cohabitate
(mostly) peacefully and are starting to |
 |
play and tease each other. When Agnes isn't playing with Mack or sprawling on
him (as in the attached photo), she's snuggling up next to us or bouncing around
the house just for fun, wagging her tail the whole time. She is so happy and
likes to wag so much that we've started calling her "Wagnes"
or "Wags." She's such a blessing to us, and we couldn't
imagine life without her. Thank you again!

"Milhaus", called "Milsy" by my
adoptive parents, speaking. I am so happy to have a permanent
home and am trying my best to keep my human companions healthy
by recommending many walks during each day. They, in turn, are
trying to teach me new things like what "toys" and "play" are
(see my picture with my "pet goat"). Together we make a great
family. I am so happy PAWS saved me and helped make my
adoption possible.
