PAWS Chicago,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for rescuing Gracie from the
Hurricane. She is the sweetest dog. Gracie is still a little scared of the big
city but with obedience school and lots of love she is doing fantastic!! She
loves all her toys and of course chasing George the cat around. Keep up the
fantastic work.

Hi PAWS,
I don't think that any one will be able to forget Toby (PAWS name
Odell) and his 'chatty' personality. Among all the dogs that I worked
with there at the shelter, there was something that stuck out for me with Toby.
He has made a wonderful and surprisingly quiet addition to my family. He is the
comic relief at Happy Hour and everyone who meets him would never guess he was a
hurricane survivor. It's always |
 |
an adventure to see where his nose will lead him and quite a feat to follow. He's made quite the companion for Bailey (beagle mix), they are nearly
inseparable, he's also brought out a side of Sandy (yellow lab) I've never seen
before.
Thanks so much!
- Emily, Bailey, Sandy, Toby and Paws. |

Sammy (PAWS name Muddy) is living the life of luxury in his new home.
Between spending a few days a week in the office with me, playing at
Wiggley Field, taking a swim at Montrose Beach and attending puppy
classes, Sammy likes to take a break and catch up on his beauty sleep on
my bed! This handsome young chap is the love of my life and I thank
PAWS Chicago for rescuing him and helping him find his way home to me!

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Stella (formerly known as Cara at PAWS) is doing great! She is growing quite a bit --
probably about 20 lbs by now and is a truly wonderful dog! We finished Super
Puppy School and she was a stellar student. She loves to play with other dogs
(no matter what size!), chase leaves and squirrels, and earn treats. She is
also obsessed with playing fetch with her 'Bad Cuz' squeaky toy, which is
adorable but loud! We love playing and cuddling with |
 |
|
her as she is quite a love. It is nearly impossible to take her for a walk with
out being stopped
several times by people asking about her and commenting on what a beautiful dog
she is. Everyone especially marvels at her blue eyes and how hard she will
wiggle her tail to say hello! Here is a picture of her on one of our walks
on the lakefront. She is on the verge of being a very good walking partner; we just need to learn how to ignore those squirrels! Thanks so much for
saving her for us. We love having her in our lives! Love, Leah, Mike and Stella 'La Bella' Fink |

Hello PAWS Chicago,
We just wanted to send a quick note thanking you for introducing us to Vegas
(PAWS name Peanut). We fell in love with him and adopted him at Angels
with Tails on Armitage back in August. He definitely appears to enjoy his new
home evidenced by his ever wagging tail. Vegas loves to take long walks so he
can chase leaves and squirrels and so that he can expand his ever growing fan
club in our neighborhood! He also enjoys dog |
 |
|
training
classes, playing with his toys (especially his "squeeky" ghost), attending parties
with his parents, and just cuddling on the couch. Everyone who encounters Vegas
comments on his friendliness and "cuteness" factor! Both Eric and I often
comment that we never thought it was possible to love a dog as much as we love
Vegas and are constantly thankful for our spontaneous move of adopting him.
Thanks PAWS Chicago. - Kim, Eric, and Vegas |

Hello PAWS Chicago!
Just a note to let you know that Bandit is doing very well. It has been
just over a year since he became arrived at my home, and it has been a wonderful
year. Between causing a ruckus with the six or so other dogs in my courtyard
townhouse complex, and spending quality time with his girlfriend Gracie (an
adorable yellow lab that lives around the corner), I think Bandit has found
himself a nice home in Wrigleyville. He has been traveling with me quite a bit,
and between his social schedule at home, and our travels all over the U.S.,
Bandit has been one busy dog ! I just want to say |
|
thank you for bringing him into my life. He has truly become a member of my
family! Here he is on Halloween! Thanks, Jai. |

Hi PAWS!
Daisy and Harry came to us as two timid kitties that wouldn't come out
from under the bed. Many months later after lots of love, patience, and an
effective barricade to keep them from hiding, they have grown into two happy
felines. Harry is a big fan of food, laps, and chin scratches; whereas Daisy
jumps up next to you when she wants attention. They spend their days sleeping,
chasing each up and down the cat tree, and bird-watching |
 |
|
from
their favorite window. Thank you, PAWS Chicago, for bringing these two, sweet furballs
into our life. |

Hello PAWS Chicago!
Just writing to give you an update on Huey. He is very attached to Eddie
and me, and we love him very much. We have overcome his problem
with the separation anxiety, and he is doing great. Huey is now almost 2 years
old and weighs 71 lbs!

Hi,
My name is Mr. Blumpkin (left) and my littermate's
name is Junebug (right). We've always been together
and very close, so when our people decided to adopt us
together from PAWS Chicago in October 2004, we were very
happy! We do a lot of napping on our kitty tree. Otherwise Junebug chases
imaginary mice around the |
 |
|
house and I count the hours until dinner time; I have quite the appetite for a
little guy. Our people are very happy with us too. I try to groom them and Junebug tries to feed the fish he catches
from his pole. We take very good care of our people. Thanks again, PAWS Chicago! |

Hi PAWS!
We just wanted to let you know that Toto (we kept the name you gave him
at PAWS Chicago) is a genuine treasure and we are so happy that he's part of
our family. We brought him home one month ago and he has added nothing but joy
to our lives. Thank you for matching him up with us. Toto is the star student in
his obedience class, and in just two sessions he has mastered sit, shake, and
lie |
down
with voice or hand signals. We are working diligently on having him come when
called and not to bark at other dogs, both of which he is showing great progress
toward mastering. He is so smart, we are confident that he will get these down
in no time. Thank you so much, PAWS Chicago, for bringing us all together!

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Indy (PAWS name Baby) is doing great! She loves going on walks and
meeting other dogs and people. She also likes chewing her toys under the living
room table or chair and falling asleep in my lap. She has already started puppy
obedience; last week was the first week and she was very excited. Everyone loves
her - me especially! Thanks again for connecting me with my puppy! - Lisa |

Hi PAWS Chicago!
We adopted Declan from a PAWS adoption event at Dearborn station.
Everyone was very helpful and we took him home a couple hours after falling in
love with him. He's been a sweet and lively addition to our home. Declan always
seems very happy and full of love! Thankfully,

Hello!
We just wanted to let you know that Rumi is doing
great! We've had her over a year now and we can't remember
what life was like before she was a member of our family.
Rumi has been such a great dog. She loves people and loves
nothing more than to be petted and given attention. She is a
wonderful compliment to our other dog, Riley, who is not
quite as affectionate. At first Rumi had some separation
issues, but we have worked on a lot of them and she
continues to get better every day. We have hopes of doing
therapy work with Rumi and she just passed her Canine Good Citizen test! I have
a feeling therapy work will be right up her |
alley as making people smile is her specialty. I knew there was something about
her when I first saw her a year and a half ago. I was working at PAWS Chicago at
the time, and was fortunate enough to have chosen her from Animal Care and
Control that day. Something about the look in her eyes would not let me leave
her behind. I now know why she was meant to be a part of our lives. What a gift Rumi has been;
we are so blessed to have her!

Dear PAWS:
We adopted Ender and Bean (formerly Elbrus and Rainier)
in June of '04. Ender went from being a wiry little daredevil to
a full blown ocelot who sometimes pretends he doesn't like
cuddling; Bean grew from the sweetest fluffball of a little guy to a guileless
cat who's often more like a puppy and sleeps in the oddest of positions. They
adore each other and we love them to bits. We |
 |
|
would love to know how their siblings (Helen, Everest and Nevrus) are doing!
Thanks so much. - Keely and Ben |
