Hi PAWS!
We just wanted to let you all know that Sturgis (PAWS name Paris) is absolutely wonderful. She has been a joy to the whole family and amazing with kids. We absolutely love her and know we have done the best thing for her. She has a wonderful life here. She is growing day by day and just a treasure to us. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to welcome her into her new home. She says to say "hi" to her siblings; however she has plenty of cousins that she gives a run for there money. They cannot keep up with her and are worn out within in minutes of
playing with her.  Take care! The Giordano Family

Hi PAWS,
Aida and Dido
now known as (Brun)hilda and (The Divine Miss) Diva are doing great and we're all enjoying each other a lot!     They're loving and playful, and we're delighted they came to our house to live. Hoping all is well with you and yours. Many thanks to PAWS.
- Judy and Morry Roth

Dear PAWS Chicago,
This is Cassie (former PAWS name Valencia).  She was one of the "European" puppies.  We adopted her at your Lake Forest event as a new pal for our Lab, Bear who had recently lost his 2 very old best friends.  This picture was taken this Fall as they were resting after hours of play in the backyard.  Cassie and Bear are inseparable.  Have you ever seen two dogs...mouth to mouth... share the same bone?  We are so pleased to have adopted from PAWS! Keep up the great work!

Hi,
Ernest here (formerly known as Ricky). It's been just a year now since you sent me home with the Olson's. Man did I fall in a pot of jam. Up until now at least they fed me really well. I now weigh 14.5 lbs. (up from 6.2 a year ago)! Unfortunately the mean doctor says I need to cut back on the intake - ugh. Big sis August and I get along great. We love to play fight and chase. Now that I'm bigger than her,
it's more even. I've attached a photo of us - not too recent (I'm still small) but a good one. I love to play fetch with my mice - just like a D.O.G. but heh it's fun. About that "B" cat thing - what were you thinking??? You could have really blown this deal for me. Mom tells me every day that I am an "A" cat and I try to prove her right (except maybe when she left a roasted chicken on the  kitchen counter...well I AM a cat after all. Now if only I can figure out how to open the microwave... hmmm). Uh oh - I hear someone coming. They don't know I've figured out how to use their e-mail so I gotta run and look cute. That's it for now; just wanted to say thanks for taking such good care of me and finding me a great home. - Ernest

Hello!
We adopted Chester in March 2003, and after deciding he needed a full time playmate, we adopted Jasper (PAWS name Lil' Ricky) in July 2003. Chester thought having a brother to play with was a fantastic idea for the first couple of hours, but when he realized that Jasper wasn't going back to PAWS that night (and he had to share his bed, too), the jealousy got the better of him. It took a
couple of months before Chester would allow Jasper to sit on the couch to watch TV with us. And toys, that Chester never bothered to even look at, suddenly started appearing up on the bed, conveniently located too high for poor little Jasper to jump up on. However, we are happy to report that that phase only lasted a few months. Today, Chester and Jasper are inseparable. They chase each other through the house (and across most of the furniture), wrestle in the backyard, and snuggle up together at bedtime. I've attached a picture of the two of them modeling their new snow gear, all ready for winter! Thanks again for helping us find the two most perfect little boys. - Andrea.

Mr. Magic and Rockwell are now living in a beautiful, spacious 3 bedroom apartment in Wicker Park. The boys have plenty of room to roam now, compared to the studio they spent their spring and summer in. They are spoiled with little toys, cat houses and food! They get along great, and are very playful and energetic for their age. Both are healthy and happy. Thanks to PAWS for saving these two - they're both so special.

Hello PAWS Chicago!
It's been a while since my PAWS Chicago days...4 years to be exact. My mom just got a digital camera and is learning how to use it. Anyway, I was once known as Lily, now I am known as Luna, and my mom is my 4th owner. She got me when I was only a year old. I had been through a lot and I came with some issues but have worked through them over the years and am regularly told how wonderful
I am...as well as how cute I am. I share my home and toys with my older brother Zady. He has been the best teacher ever and so patient. I am so lucky to have him in my life. I have lots of doggy, kitty, and human friends and make more friends daily. I am a charmer in that way. Well, I just thought I would drop you an email and say hello and share a picture of me with my brother Zady. Thank you for finding me a great home and for saving my life. I will forever be indebted to you PAWS Chicago! Love, Luna

Hi everyone at PAWS,
This is your old pal Starskey here! Wish I could say I miss the joint, but contrary to popular belief, living with my very own family has been a blast! Rex and Diane are my adopters, along with Danny, Tina, Taylor, & Riley (my brothers and sister), and they have been great with me. I'm such a fast learner.  We didn't even have to go to one of those obedience schools to learn the "Rules of the Road"!  They love it when I do things they ask
me to do, and I even get "treats" for doing favors. Occasionally, I haven't been perfect on the "tinkling ONLY outside in my pen" but we're getting there! Thanks for bringing me to Marshall Fields in the Woodfield Mall on Mother's Day in 2004!

Hi PAWS Chicago,
This is Buddy (PAWS name Bernie). We adopted him last spring at one of your events at a Marshall Field store. As you can see he is right at home with something that doesn't belong to him. He has been through obedience training and loves to go for walks and ride in the car. He really is our best friend!

I'm Lulu and this is my beloved brother Max. We sleep cuddled up together, play together and cannot bear to be apart. When our kind former family had to give us up in August (because they did not have the ability to exercise us and had no yard), PAWS found us a new home together with Linda & John. They have a big yard with a new fence for us! We both needed to get in shape and Max needed to shed several pounds so I chase him around the yard (also
known as Lulu Boot Camp). Linda & John are active and take us with them everywhere!  We have been hiking and swimming in the Illinois & Wisconsin forests and lakes, playing ball, Frisbee and walking, and walking, and walking. We even did the PAWS Chicago Run For Their Lives 4k Walk. Max lost 7lbs. of fat and I lost a bit, too. The photo shows us spying on ducks in a forest at Lake Geneva but John would not let us chase them. We love to chase anything, and we do not allow bees, butterflies, squirrels or anything on our lawn. I also love sun bathing on my new deck. Everybody says we are the best dogs in the world and John and Linda are super happy to have us! We love them too!

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I volunteered at the Clark St. PAWS back in 1999, when they were still waiting for cages and flooring. One day while there, I noticed this sweet little gray tabby with an interesting face. His name was Alex (now Dmitri), and he had only been there a couple of days. He was so relaxed and loving! I was looking at him trying to decide whether to get him out of his cage to meet him when another woman asked to see him. I watched as he cuddled
up in her arms, purring. He was so happy-go-lucky, I just knew he'd be perfect for the devil at home. Luckily, she put him back in the cage and I swiped him out, cuddled him for about 5 minutes and ran to fill out an application. I've had him ever since and he truly is the sweetest animal who loves everyone and every animal. I now have three cats and a dog, and they all love Dmitri as does everyone who meets him.

Hi PAWS!
Dakota (PAWS name Lucia) came into our lives on June 27, 2004. She is one of the smartest puppies I have ever seen. She has acclimated well to her new surroundings. She just loves our other pets, although she wears out our Retriever, Bones! She is also doing well in obedience class (Mom's the one who needs help!) We absolutely love her!! Thanks PAWS for entrusting her to us. - Cathy, Gary & Colleen Marchlewski

Hi. My name's Ernie. I got a new home last week thanks to PAWS. It's great. I have a new mom who loves me a ton and a new big brother who's showing me the ropes. Wrestling ropes, that is. I'm only five months old, but I'm gonna turn pro soon. Eskimo, my new brother, is a great wrestler. I want to be just like him when I grow up. Eskimo was really lonely before I got here and I really needed a home, so thanks PAWS for
helping my new mom find me. Here's a picture of me and Eskimo (I'm the cute black one).  Love, Ernie Strohschein

Hey PAWS Chicago,
This is Lucy (formerly known as Petunia) whom my husband and  I adopted this past July at the Angels on Armitage event. She was calm and quiet that day and did not seem to match the description of "a very energetic dog" that had been returned from a failed adoption. Well that is until we got  her home. Within the first few hours she showed us just how energetic she really is! But now after a month and starting a training class,
Lucy is much more behaved. She still has her wild moments, but is more lovable and sweet than anything else! Thank you PAWS for making such a terrific match!

Dear PAWS,
I am happy to report that Bella (formerly Cagney) is doing very well! Now six months old, she has graduated from her first obedience class. She is the sweetest little dog, who loves doing tricks ("rollover" is a favorite), playing with her cat siblings, and going for swims at the dog beach. We never imagined that she'd so quickly become such an integral part of our family. She has brought so much love and laughter into our lives.
