Things are going great with Freddie. Freddie just loves being loved. We took him over to a friend's house recently and he was referred to as "the find of the century." He has been getting spoiled by us and our friends and family. He has quite a collection of toys to play with and his little stuffed animal "monkey" is by far his favorite. When we adopted him, he was very skinny with a funny haircut. His body looked way too long for his frame. He has put on some weight and his hair has grown out a bit, and now he might Freddie
just be the cutest dog I've ever seen. We want to thank everyone at PAWS, we love our little guy and we are so happy to have Freddie in our lives!  - Megan and Chris

Here is the latest photo of Wishbone (PAWS name Cole) always posing for the camera! In early July 2002, we adopted Wishbone from a PAWS event. Wishbone is now 1½ years old, and a play monster! He is a very active dog and also loves going to Montrose Beach, except that he's afraid of the deep end. We went through training classes and he is a well-behaved, and truly friendly dog. At the park, he is nicknamed "The Ambassador," as he has to greet all humans and dogs before he runs off
to play. Wishbone is probably the only dog we know who likes to go down the children's slide! We can't thank PAWS enough for being such a great organization and helping bring Wishbone into our lives. With all the love he receives, and the love he gives us, it is truly a great "Dog's Life." We are very lucky to have Wishbone as a member of the family.

Here is a picture of Bo. We've had him for several years now. He has been trained and can sit, stay, lay down and come. He is extremely well-behaved, and a very personable dog. He has made friends with a dog two doors down and the play together, and he also loves to play with is cousin Maia. Bo walks with his head held high, and his kisses could melt your heart! It's no wonder that the people at PAWS nick named him "Prince Charming." Not a day goes by that we don't say something about how very
fortunate we are to have adopted Bo. Thanks so much!

Rocky and Ripple Holmes and Watson (PAWS names Rocky and Ripple) are doing very well. It is really amazing to see them grow and develop their personalities. Holmes is a little tiger by now, he grew pretty fast. Watson, on the other hand, is a very delicate female. I thought at first that Holmes nabs all the food from her, but that's not the case. She eats like a tiger while staying slender. Watson enjoys taking rides on my shoulder while I'm
busy puttering around at home; whereas Holmes tends to explore on all fours. They both had their first bath about two months ago. Watson "The Brave" didn't quite live up to her nickname, but she was okay. Holmes, who tends to be more sensitive, actually seemed to enjoy it!

Hi PAWS!
Dunkin
is doing great! He's still very playful and agile (I guess because he's still a kitten). Dunkin knows how to open cabinet doors with his paws. He actually pulls the door open as if he has hands!  He always opens the same cabinet door, where we use to have a little container of catnip. He could smell it because he had chewed on the container and made little holes on the top. Well, one day we came home and there was catnip
Dunkin
dumped all over the rug, and there was Dunkin just rolling around and playing all over in it. The catnip is no longer kept in that cabinet, but he still enjoys opening the door and sometimes just sits in there and peeks out every now and then. - Selina

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Sonny
and Rob are doing very well and have adjusted nicely to our home. They have gotten used to our schedules, and they sleep in bed with us for most of the night. We have been trimming their claws and grooming them with a brush, which Sonny really likes, although Rob is indifferent. Our friends and family love
how friendly and approachable they are. I'm sure the constant human interaction at PAWS has a lot to do with their wonderful personalities. - Jeff Enzinger and Della Bently

Desi I'm happy to report that Desi is doing great. The move in August went very smoothly and the cats adjusted quickly. I think they liked all the new space to run around in, plus all the windows. Wrigley and him are still best friends. I can't believe what a positive change it had on Wrigley when we adopted Desi. It's like he's a new and improved cat! Desi doesn't seem to mind having Wrigley to follow around and snuggle with either. - Susan Kettler

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Here is an updated picture of Faith and Hope. When we got Hope she was a very sick dog. She was in intensive care for over a week. When she finally came home she was a boney 14 lb., 3 month old puppy. Now she is a healthy, very active 65 lb. 7 month old puppy! Her nickname is "Monster." Three weeks after Hope came home, Faith had ripped every ligament in her right hip and underwent two surgeries to repair it. She is
Hope and Faith
slowly, but happily, healing in the lap of luxury. I just wanted to say "thank you" to everyone at PAWS for all your prayers and emails during those times. Faith and Hope were lucky to have been a part of the PAWS family. - The Garcia's

Hi PAWS!
Venus and Serena are doing wonderful! I don't think I could love them any more than I do. I ended up renaming them Indy and Maddie. Indy is a doll and an attention hog, to say the least, and has already turned into a lap cat. She doesn't leave my side when I am home. She usually sleeps on the pillow next to my head. Maddie took a lot longer than Indy to adjust. She is a skittish kitty and never shows her face when I have company. When I am
alone, she happily sits on the couch with me (not on my lap) and enjoys being petted. It is hard to believe how different their personalities are!  - Julie

These year-old brothers, Rascal and Chaucer, are the two sweetest guys. They love sliding across the hard wood floors and enjoy a good wrestling match right before a good meal. The two play hide-and-seek with each other for hours, and then hanker down for little naps and grooming sessions, always in each others company. Rascal is appropriately named, very outgoing and inquisitive. Chaucer is still a little shy, but is so  affectionate, and as it turns out, loves to be brushed! These guys bring me
endless joy, and I appreciate all that PAWS has done to help bring them into my life.

Felix and Maurice Hi PAWS Chicago!
Just writing to say hello and to let you know that Felix and Cowboy (PAWS names Felix and Maurice) are doing fabulous. Both of our "babies" are fantastic and have such different personalities. They have adjusted wonderfully to their new environment, although they are mischievous every so often! Here is a picture of them cuddling on the dining room
chair. They love playing together every day and are very affectionate with each other. Thank you!!! - Erica A. Wilms

Gus (PAWS name Dugan) has taken VERY WELL to his new home, as well as the new situations, people, and dogs he has come in contact with. Gus and Muddy (our other dog) get along fabulously and play very well together. His adaptation to his new situation and surroundings have always, and continue to, amaze me in a way I never could have imagined. Gus has made a tremendously positive Gus and Muddy
difference in our lives. While I thought I was content with just Muddy and never thought about "adding to the family," I couldn't imagine being happier since Gus has been around. Thank you very much for the opportunity to first foster, then adopt Gus into our family. Your efforts, while often going unnoticed, are certainly appreciated in our house. Thanks again! - Joanne Inda

Cookie and Maggie Hi PAWS Chicago,
Cookie
is doing wonderful. She and Maggie became friends much faster than I had even hoped. The crate for nighttime was put away after only a little over a week. I have no worries about leaving them together in the house or yard when I'm not watching them. Cookie is already pretty well obedience trained, so I won't start her on a refresher class until mid to
late November, when my heavy craft shows are over. - Pam Levine

Six months ago we adopted Mariah (now Miele). She was the most loving cat ever. She loved to snuggle and play. When we moved, we decided to adopt another friend for her. Quickly, one cat became two when we fell in love with the shy Rudy and Natasha. They had been at PAWS for a while and kept away from us at first when they moved in. But now, they come out and play and snuggle with each other on the couch. Rudy is more outgoing, but Natasha is coming along. They are wonderful pets!
Thank you so much!
- Kim & Nick Miklusak

Logan Hey PAWS Chicago!
Attached is a picture of Logan (PAWS name Zelda). Logan is half way through her obedience training and learning every day. Logan is now recognized by all of our neighbors in the neighborhood, who lately comment on how big her paws are getting. We love Logan, and we love going on long walks with her every day.
