Dear PAWS Chicago,
Here is a picture of Buddy Hackett. We adopted him at Angels with Tails in May 2001. He is the center of our lives and has brought us much happiness. He is still well known to PAWS - he is on your website! He
still loves to give kisses. Let me tell ya, Buddy is one spoiled dog.

Just a note to let you know Dalton (formerly Alf) is doing great. He has a lot of friends he plays with everyday - 3 Golden Retrievers, a country dog named "Whizzer", and my sister's four mutts next door. The mutts hate all other dogs but Dalton. His favorite buddy is "Ralph" down the road, who he sees every day. Dalton is a great joy. When he is out and about with me, people flock to him and comment on how incredibly cute and well behaved he is. The kids at the city park especially like him because (I swear) he will
go up the steps of the jungle gym area by himself and choose one of the five slides to go down. He then circles around and chooses a different slide! No one nudges or prompts him to do this... He just loves to go down slides! Oh yes, he can also climb a ladder! - Greg Schmitt

Hi PAWS Chicago!
Here is a picture of Lucy - we got her at your May '99 event on Oak Street. Her PAWS name was Claire. Just wanted to say THANKS once again because she is the best dog ever - oh so sweet.

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Thank you from the bottom of my very big sweet heart, for saving my life, and helping me find a wonderful home. I will always love and cherish you! I am now living in Brentwood with my brother Winston and my mom.

Dear PAWS,
I just wanted to thank you for our new addition to the family. We adopted Faith (PAWS name "Pam") when we went into Marshall Fields for coffee and saw her unbelievably beautiful blue eyes. She is already absolutely LOVED by everyone. She even comes to work with me once all the students leave. Within three days, she memorized how to get to everyone's classroom in the building to get the most attention before anyone leaves.
She goes to the photographer on Friday for her first picture. Thanks again! Lori and Luis Garcia

Dear PAWS Chicago,
We adopted Mulligan from the Armitage event on 8/11/02. We brought Mulligan home on 8/14/02. He has grown so much in four days, so I wanted to send you a puppy picture right away. He is already the hit of the neighborhood and an instant buddy of every dog and person he encounters. So  far he has an incredibly good demeanor and is learning fast. He already knows "come" and "sit" and he can now climb stairs. Thank you,
PAWS Chicago, for giving us the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful family member. We'll send you more photos after his kindergarten graduation! - Andrea, Chris and Mulligan Moran

I am Haley, a 5-month-old Keeshond/Shepherd mix. Since I arrived at my new home, I have made many good dog friends. My best friend is Archie, a 6-month-old Wheaten Terrier. All my friends come over and play with me. I love to give kisses and play with my squeak toys. Thank you PAWS for giving me such a loving family. Here are some pictures of me when I first came home and now.

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Chris and I have always had animals in our lives, so the last three months felt especially empty when we didn't have furry friends to come home to at night. After receiving an e-mail request for foster parents from PAWS, I contacted Toni McNaughton, volunteer manager of the Cat Adoption Center, who told me about two wonderful special needs cats; Leo and Buddy. We went to meet them and it was love at first sight! We adopted
Buddy and Leo
them both immediately. Buddy sleeps with us every night, and plants himself on top of our heads to show his love. Leo adores Chris, and reminds him at least five times a day. They have a window perch for sunbathing, and Buddy likes to sit in my lap while I surf the Net. We both feel the magic touch of our cats, and are so happy that empty feeling is  gone and that we were able to give them a loving home. We thank PAWS for giving us such wonderful gifts in Buddy and Leo. I also want to personally thank Toni McNaughton, who went  out of her way to introduce us to the cats. - Dionna Hunger and Christopher Plywacz

Rylee Dear PAWS Chicago,
When we walked into the PAWS adoption event at Marshall Fields, we had no idea that we would be "adopted" ourselves by this beautiful girl. She has been an absolute joy to have as part of our family. We can't get enough of her: rubbing her belly, her kisses, her cute expressions, and her wild wiggling tail when she's excited to see us. We are also impressed with how intelligent she is. We could list all of her wonderful qualities, but the
list would go on forever. Can you tell how happy we are to have her? Thank you, PAWS, for doing the wonderful things you do to give pets like Rylee a happy home. - The Clouse Family

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Kima and Sachi
are delightful dogs - so full of love and affection! They bonded right away with my children Andrew, Christina and Cody and are just a part of the family now! They sleep with me on my bed (never thought I'd let a dog do that!) but they are irresistible and Sachi even likes to sleep under the covers, with just his cute little face sticking  out! They are eating really well - you would never know that Kima is sick. They are a joyful
Kima and Sachi
presence in our home and we are thankful to PAWS for allowing us to adopt these precious animals. Thanks, too , for all the  follow up from the volunteers at PAWS. The phone calls and words of encouragement have been very nice and we can tell that the people at PAWS really care about these dogs! When I think of the series of events that brought these dogs into our lives, I am amazed and grateful. Thank you!  Sincerely, Patti

I call her Gypsy. I adopted her about a year ago and she has been the greatest dog. I went to the shelter in Chicago to see her and when the lady brought her to me it was love at first sight, she licked my ear and I knew then she was the one. She was delivered to my house the next day by PAWS and it took no time for my other dogs to welcome her. I then started in obedience training with her and she was a natural, she advanced so quickly in class that the instructors could not believe it. We are now doing
agility training and again she is amazing, never questioning what I want her to do. I just want to thank PAWS for giving me this great dog. I would not hesitate to adopt another dog from PAWS.  - Connie Staudenmayer

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Mike, our 8-year-old tabby, had been alone for the past two years after the unexpected passing of his brother, Steve. Mike has adjusted quite well after the first year, but in the latter year had become inactive and overweight. We wanted to adopt a cat that would help Mike become more active and happier. Sassy, the 3-year-old tabby that we adopted and renamed Helen was the perfect addition. Mike picked up her young, playful
attitude and he dropped from 18 pounds to 16 pounds. The introduction took only a few days, and after some initial hissing, they became best friends. Thanks so much!

Hi PAWS Chicago,
My husband and I adopted Petey on December 4, 1999. He has become the love of our lives! Petey proved to be a smart pup, eager to learn and to please! He's such an important member of our family, taking his job as protector very seriously. We have since relocated to Arizona where we hike, swim, mountain climb, even kayak! Petey has quite a life! Petey gives us enormous joy, companionship, loyalty, and most importantly, love!
Adopting him is truly one of the most selfless, rewarding things we have ever done. Our home is a better place with  Petey in it! Thank you, PAWS! - Suzann Close

Is it possible to fall in love with a cat? YES. When I walked into the PAWS Adoption Center I was blown away by the charming maitre D - Mr. Bugsy - I felt I needed a second cat and he was impossible to resist. He is now a happy member of the Tullman family along with our two dogs.
- Judy Tullman

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Here is a photo of Sally, who we adopted from you in October 2000. We could not love her more if we tried. Thank you for saving her life. We appreciate your important work.
Sincerely,
Ellen and Barry Sawyer
