Hi everyone at PAWS, Panda is now known as "Frankie." Frankie is doing
well, he gets along fine with our other rescue dog. He is a bundle of energy, a
fast learner, and he now weighs in over 35 pounds. What a personality! Thanks to
PAWS for great work that you do.

We adopted Sash & Wonder in February. They are so perfect for us.
They were feeling at home within a week here. They get along great with our dog
Lacey, an Alaskan Malamute rescue. Our son loves them too. We can hardly
remember life before Sash & Wonder came into our
world. Thank you PAWS for these two precious members of the family! -

Farrah has proved to be a perfect addition to our family. She has a brother
Stanley-ridgeback/mastiff mix (1.5 yrs old). They keep each other company
playing all day and following and imitating every step he takes. She loves to
play fight with him
and
cuddle with each other. Every one thinks they are from the same litter. She is
full of energy and keep her brother on his toes.
Thanks!

Drake is doing great! He enjoys his time by playing outside, chasing

I think we have found the Holy Grail of cats. Burberry is as
close to the perfect cat as anyone could hope for! He follows my roommate and me
around all day, asking politely for attention with his eyes. I cannot sit
or lie down anywhere without him joining me, either right next to me or on top
of me. He is easily the sweetest cat I have ever met and I am in love :)

I could not have asked for a better companion! Delilah has been a
wonderful addition to our lives. She is fun and energetic but at the same time
extremely well behaved. Everyone always comments on how we have such a beautiful
dog. Here is a picture of Delilah and my
girlfriend Kristin from a recent trip to Door County.
Thanks!

Sprite's new name is Fender. She's named
after the guitar. In my opinion, she loves music too. Anyway, Fender is doing
great. She's a wonderful dog. As far as her training goes, she comes, sits, and
lies down. She's growing up real fast too. She now weighs roughly 30 lbs. and
gains about 2 pounds a week. Everyone I know loves her. I've been told I won the
dog lottery with her.
Sincerely,

Wilbur now goes by the name of Fredo and is doing

I have renamed Traveler, to "Ivan". With
his cool eyes it seems to fit him much better. He is THE BEST DOG EVER!!!!
He is great with kids and other dogs. He was very easy to train. He can come,
sit, stay, lie down and roll over. He does not pull on the leash anymore, and I
just cannot believe how cool he is. Everyone else I introduce him to feels the
same.
Best,
JB Mills |

Coda (PAWS name Cookie) is doing great. She has been so easy to train and
is a very smart puppy. She is so outgoing with people and other dogs, and she
typically is either running around full of energy or passed out on the floor
sleeping. She adjusted right away, and I couldn't be more happy with her. She
was the best decision I have made in a long time. Thanks so much!

Since adopting Cutie, we have changed his name to
Wellington. For starters, he has a very unique personality. We have never
experienced a cat, or any other animal for that matter, like him. For being
almost 4, he is very playful and active. We are so glad we adopted him from you,
and had the opportunity to save him. He has been a lot of fun and a wonderful
addition to our family. Thanks again, and keep up all of your hard work. It is
definitely appreciated!Warmest regards,

Just wanted to drop you a little update on
Ripley (PAWS name Rip) that I adopted as well as Golabki (PAWS name Zac).
We all had a wonderful weekend at our summer home in Wisconsin. It was Ripley's
1st time on the boat and he took to being seaworthy rather well. I just
wanted to give you an update on both of them, and share this cute picture of
Ripley in all his glory in his life vest being a nautical little guy on his 1st
boat ride. Thanks again for both of them, they are truly the joys of my life and
I take them with me everywhere.

My
husband and I adopted two of your wonderful cats in December - Parker and
Posey. I am forwarding pictures of them to you. They are a wonderful
addition to our home. They bring us so much joy each and every day. My husband
never used to be
a
"cat person". Now, he can't imagine what our home would be like without Parker
and Posey - and neither can I! Thank you so much for giving them to us.

Hi it's me Harry, I have been in my new
home now since March 2007. I spend a lot of time with my parents at my Aunt Dana
and Uncle Tony's with my cousin dogs Jake, Frankie and Max. If you look at the
pictures you will see me and my sister Wendy on a lazy day at home with dad.
Well I should be going mom and dad are ready for bed so I must secure my spot on
the bed between the two of them.Karen & Rob Downs
P.S. We just want to say thanks so much for all you do. Harry rocks!!! He is
definitely a mama's boy.

Scout has been on vacation. He is a very lucky dog because has been quite
the traveler! He finally met the rest of the family on the East coast! As of
last week, he weighed 27 lbs and is growing by the second. You wouldn't even
recognize him. He loves his
toys, bones, dig at the beach and play in the water. He is the best snuggler
too! Ned and I are just having the best time with him and feel we got a great
dog! Thanks PAWS!

Skippy and Rugby are the world travelers who were both at PAWS at
the same time but met at our house. They are best friends, rough-housing each
other one minute and cleaning each other the next. They spend their winters in
Costa Rica and summers in Chicago! Their Costa Rican days consist mostly looking
out the window and dreaming of catching the birds and butterflies. They're first
class kitties who travel in coach (under the seats :-) ) and adjusted to their
surroundings immediately, as you can see from the picture. - Laura Berger |

Gus (PAWS name August) is doing well. I have attached pictures of Gus and

but starting to settle into a routine.

Well, let's see Orion is now Pooky and Charlie is still Charlie.
They are just wonderful kitties and our two adult cats are starting to come
around. They rarely hiss or get their hair on edge anymore. In fact, I
have caught my 12 and 13 year old cats sleeping, snuggling and once in a while,
playing with the new kitties. Not more than a day or two goes by without either
my son or daughter saying "Thanks for letting us get the kitties. We love them
so much." Thanks very much, PAWS, for connecting us with Pooky and
Charlie. Regards,
Kathleen, Suzanne, and Zachary Scott |

We have changed Bitsy's name to Bear, we thought it would fit her well.
We are hoping to put her through training so that she can respond to some basic
commands and also become a bit friendlier with other dogs. Currently she
likes to hide from other dogs. She is having a bit of a rough time being left
alone, but she is starting to do better. At first she whines a bit, but then she
sleeps.

We decided to keep his name Vinnie (because he seemed to react to it) and
have taken to calling him "The Vinster". He is an active kitty with a
serious case of the "night crazies". Even though he is an indoor cat, he
is entranced by the outdoors and can usually be found perched in a window, with
his head darting back and forth, as he tracks a bird or other moving object.
Yet, despite it all, he's very well behaved and very very loving toward us and
others.
Thanks,

Just wanted to update you on Pluto (formerly Leo at PAWS). He is very
happy and sometimes acts like a 20 lb puppy even though he's close to 130 lbs
now! He's adjusting well to his new home and has 3 new dog beds in each main
room of the house, but he still prefers the couch!! He is one of the best
behaved dogs we've ever had and we thank our lucky stars every day for rescuing
him. He thanks us each day too!
Keep up the good work and we'll keep you posted on Pluto!- Michelle & Stan

We kept Bernie's name because he really looks like a
Bernie. We couldn't think of anything more fitting.
We did give him a middle name, however, and so his
full name is Bernie Ernie Kestin.
Bernie has been an outstanding dog. When we are
inside he is so well behaved, and he loves to sleep on
his back. He barks in his sleep all the time, but
when he's awake he has only barked 3 or 4 times in the
almost eight weeks since we've had him. We are amazed at how quickly he's
learning: sit, stay, down, and shake!
Thanks for such an excellent addition to the family!

Griffin (AKA Griffy) is doing wonderfully.
He is everything we hoped he would be. Great with the kids, great with other
dogs and animals, great with other people. In a house with 5 young kids he is

our youngest son used for his first grade class intro to his new dog. Thanks

Hello everyone at PAWS! Just wanted to give you
an update on Brody here. Yes his name is still Brody, and he is doing
great! He is about to finish obedience school and he is the star pupil! It was a
bit of an adjustment for him becoming a "city dog" but he is so smart and has
adapted very quickly. He loves going to Wiggley Field and the doggie beach at
Belmont Harbor. He keeps me on my toes and has brought a lot of smiles into my
life already. Brody has plenty of godparents too, so its lucky that he loves
people. I've attached a picture of him as well. Thanks for checking in on us!
Take Care,

Hazel has been renamed Essie and is doing
very well. She had a badcase of kennel cough when I first adopted her, but is

have such a good puppy!- Jenn Winter

Boomer (PAWS name
Shirley) is fully and completely a member of the family now. She has
(quite aggressively!) pursued a friendship with Angel my 5-year old cat. She
sits with me on a regular basis and is curious and friendly with visitors. Helo
(PAWS name Butch) is a tougher customer. He is (still) terrified of Angel
and me but he is coming around gradually. He goes into hiding frequently - but
he has come out in the evening to sit with the rest of us each night over the
past week. He still bolts if I approach him but the fact that he comes outat all
is a big improvement. Angel is not quite comfortable with either kitten yet
but things are improving slowly. Unfortunately I can not provide a picture of
the three Halloween cats as one big happy family. As soon as such a photo is
possible I will send it along.

Julian is doing great. We just love
him and he has settled in very nicely at our apartment. His favorite spot is on
the back of the couch where he can look out the window and keep tabs of the
goings-on in his neighborhood. He's still not the friendliest dog when he meets
another pup on the street, but we're working on it in puppy school. He's great
with people though! Thanks,

He's doing great and eats like a horse! George and Jerry get along very well and

Charlie (PAWS name Austin) is such an
amazing boy; my husband and I love him like crazy! Charlie is a real socialite;
he loves meeting new people and dogs at the park and he adores all the kids in

irreplaceable member of the family! We're in a training class and it's clear

Tawny (PAWS name Malinda) has grown so

constantly told how beautiful she is and of course agree! We love Tawny so much!

Here is our new family member. She is so sweet, we renamed her Babe, it's short
for Babe Ruth (PAWS name Taylor). It was amazing, within one day she was

organization keep up the great work you all do for the pets out there who need a

We had to change the name from Sanjaya to Oscar. The whole "American

Molly (PAWS name Nicolete) is doing very well. She is unbelievably
friendly and well-behaved, and is very smart. She gets along well with my cat,
Albert, although she wishes he would play with her more. She is very friendly to
all people she meets, but is also definitely a momma's girl. I am very happy
with her and feel lucky that we met! She has grown some and is losing a bit of
the white markings around her nuzzle, but is still as cute as can be!
Thanks for introducing us. She has brought incredible joy to my life, and I like
to think she is very happy with me, too!
Best Wishes,

Bud (formally known as Ezra and renamed by my three year old son) is
doing great. He has fast become a true member of our family, and while there are
challenges with two toddlers plus a puppy, we are all very happy to have made
the decision to adopt Buddy. He is beginning to know which toys are his and that
shoes are off limits. He loves his walks and the beach. He did great in
his first puppy class and is scheduled for more training mid-summer after
vacation at Papou's lake house in NY. He is going to LOVE it there.
Thanks so much!

Marion and I couldn't be happier with our new housemate. Tanner now goes
by the name of Monty. He is named after his new home address, Montrose St.
Monty has adjusted well, he now walks the condo as if he owns it and we are
merely guests. Monty spends his days sunning on the window sill, napping on his
chair, chasing flies on the balcony, or playing with his toys. Monty may not
realize he is a cat. He has learned to sit and occasionally will amuse us with a
high-five. Of course, these "tricks" are rewarded with treats - bribery is key.
Thanks for your continuous interest in Monty! We will be in touch.

Huck continues to do well at his new home. Now that the weather's nicer,
we've been taking lots of long walks, going to the park, and to the dog beach.
He's getting along with all the dogs we're encountering and all the humans also.
He loves to try to catch squirrels and to "bounce" on pigeons. He's a very good
boy and I can't imagine not having him in my life!
Thanks again for everything (and for continuing to check up on him).

Bear is doing great! He's such a great dog. We couldn't have gotten a
better dog. We have a fence now so he's hanging out in the yard. He likes one of
us to be with him though. Everyone who sees him says how cute he is. He
really does make us laugh. Don owns his own business so he takes him to the
office with him quite often. He's a very smart dog and listens pretty good. He
starts obedience school next week.
We love Bear!
Thanks,
Karen |

Jinny is doing very well in her new home. Her favorite places are the
laundry hamper and the bedroom window sill where she watches the birds. Her
favorite toys are her foam soccer balls (she ignores the little toy mice) which
she brings to us in bed and insists that we play fetch with her until we fall
asleep. We think that she was a soccer goalie in her previous life because she
is a star diver and can catch any toss. Recently, she has discovered how much
she loves her grooming brush. Jinny has brought us endless happiness and we
can't imagine our life without her. Thanks to PAWS and their endless support.
Jinny will continue to bring us laughs and lots of morning kisses.
Love,

We adopted Goofy from PAWS and truly believe we were
destined to have the little guy! We just can not BELIEVE he was ever given up.
He's potty trained, very mild mannered (but his spunky side comes out on his
walks, when he loves to roll in the grass) and LOVES to snuggle (in fact he'll
put his dead weight on, when he jumps on our bed because he wants to
sleep between us every night).
We LOVE him and his little howl too!
Thanks PAWS!

My puppy is doing great! He name is now "Sox" (PAWS name Zack) and he is
going to puppy training classes every Sunday. He weighs almost 20 pounds now and
has very long legs! His black coat is beginning to turn to brown. He is learning
a lot of commands and loves to chew on rawhide bones. He is very active but he
sure takes a good nap after lots of play. He is getting along very well with
children and other dogs. This is not a real recent photo of him, but I will send
you more soon!

An update on Dustin (now Diesel), a 2 month old mastiff mix pup I
adopted March 10. He's doing well. When I adopted him, he weighed 17lbs. He's
now doubled that at 34lbs. He's still very shy, but once in a while he breaks
out of his shell and loves to cuddle and play with people. He and my other dog,
Sammy (a 1-1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel) are very good friends.

Sammy (PAWS name Megan) has been with me 5 months now and she is doing
great! She has a new 10-month old brother, Tobey (also a boxer mix), who I

spend a lot of time chewing on each other's ears. I've attached a picture of
Sammy and Tobey after a long day at the beach.

Hi PAWS! Just updating you all on Jackie (We've changed her name to Lady
Bella Bug.) When she's not sneaking into our closet to chew our shoes or opening
the kitchen cabinets to munch on anything she can find, Lady is the perfect dog.
She just graduated from Elementary School at Petco and keeps in touch with her
classmates through doggy playdates. Lady loves lounging in our apartment,
snuggling (and snoring!) in bed, and has a very active student life here at the
U of C- she comes to sorority meetings and is always excited to hang out in one
of the nearby frat houses- the frat has named her honorary house dog and has
even made her a facebook account! Lady also loves going on runs around Hyde Park
and by the lake. Even though Lady is nothing like the quiet, timid doggy we
first met at PAWS, we love her more than we could have ever imagined and are so
grateful that PAWS saved her life and gave us the opportunity to have her in our
lives.

one ear down- SO cute).

Hi!
I just wanted to give you an update on Tucker (PAWS name Sarchinee).
He's doing great! I've attached a picture of him with his big sister Izzy, who
we adopted a year and a half ago from another shelter in Atlanta. They've become
best friends and keep each other company during the day while we're at work.
They're both waiting at the door when we come home! Tucker has a wonderful
personality and we can't imagine our family without him. Thank you for all that
you do to save the lives of animals. We're glad we were able to give Tucker a
warm and loving home.
Thank you,

We actually renamed her Mica (PAWS name Polly) She is doing great.
We are in the process of training her. It is a once a week for 5 weeks in home
training and she is responding very well. Maggie, our 12 year old dog, loves
her. She does let her know who runs the household every once in a while
but I think Mica put a hop in Maggie's step. Here is a photo of her from
when we brought her home.

Dear Friends at Paws: Here are some pictures of our precious Howie.
He turned out to be so sweet and loveable. He loves us and our house.
He needed some time to adjust and we are so glad we were patient with him.
We truly love him. I'll keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Darlene, Don, Mike, & Gina Tartaglia |

Lovey is doing really well - I couldn't have asked for a better first
dog. She's quiet, likes to take walks, and is
just very gentle and sweet. So many people (kids and adults) approach us on our
walks to pet her and to tell me how cute they think she is. I haven't changed
her name because I just think it fits her really well. The only trouble I
have with her is that she has an extraordinary talent
of finding a chicken bone on each of our walks. I'm not too fond of pulling
these out of her mouth but am happy to do so as it's such a little "problem."
I do sometimes wish I knew more of her history...with her being 11 years old,
I'm missing a substantial amount. But I imagine this might be a common sentiment
among adopters? Regardless, I'm so thankful that she's in my life and look
forward to our future!
Thank you,
Christina M. Torke

Ponch has been renamed to Max. He is doing wonderful. We have a large
fenced back yard that he absolutely loves. The squirrels, birds, and whatever
moves don't stand a chance with his long legs and speed. He is a pretty good
frisbee catcher and ball retriever.
Here is a picture for the alumi web page.
Thanks,

Things are great with Bella (formerly known as Hillary). She's
being crate trained. She's had all her shots and vaccinations for the year.
She's super smart too. I've taught her sit, shake, stay (for long periods too),
and lay down. She loves to play with other dogs. I plan on some sort of classes
for her soon. She's only ruined one shoe so far :) and all the
furniture is still intact. She recently attended the "meet n sniff" at Joe's
Bar. Thanks again. She's a ton of work, but she's worth it!

Lucy, formerly Una :), is doing great! We had a rough patch when we first
brought her home because she was sick, but since then she has visited the vet,
taken her medicine, and now she is doing just fine. Ryan, Gizmo, and I just love
her as do our neighbors and their dogs. She is just a joy to have
around and is so happy! She loves to give kisses and to snuggle in your lap...
she doesn't realize that at 40 pounds she is not a lap dog.

Hi PAWS! We wanted to let you know Elsa is doing
wonderfully! She has gained more than 10 lbs since
coming to us! We just love every minute with her. She
is a snuggler who keeps us laughing! She loves
everything especially kids, other puppies, sticks and
ropes. Everything is an adventure to Elsa, she is up
for anything and rarely runs low on energy! We were so proud when she graduated
last week from puppy class. She is starting her intermediate class next
week. Our latest tricks are "shake" and "roll over". She is so smart! Thanks so
much paws for completing our family!

Everything is going great with Alfie, he is in good health and has lots

I attached some pictures, the lighting was bad but they turned out OK.
If you have any more questions feel free to email me.

Adell (PAWS name was Ruby) is just turning 7 months old and doing great!
We got her two months ago and both my husband and I are amazed at how far she
has come along with her training. She was potty trained in just a week and a
half. Adell loves to chew on her toys and rawhides, but hasn't chewed on
anything of ours. We started with crate training, but since she has proved we
can trust her, we put the crate away, and she has free roam of the house.
Our park district just finished building a dog park in our neighborhood. Adell
loves to go their and run around with all of her friends.
We are so happy to have Adell! I don't know what I would do without her!

I wanted to send you a picture of Archie and thank you for letting us
bring him into our family. He is the best pooch, the fastest dog at the park,
and he loves to go everywhere with us (including the Four Seasons, the PAWS walk
and the PAWS Hotel Monaco Christmasfundraiser). He sleeps in bed every night and loves it when other dogs come over
to visit. We don't know what we'd do without him. Thanks
again!

Attached is a picture of Lando Catrisian (formerly known as Grape).. As
you can see from the picture, he's now full grown, and I am glad he gets along
with our dog Tala. He likes to check out the contents of the fridge and
lounge around our window sill which has a lovely view of the roof next to our
building :-) He also LOVES to drink water from Tala's water bottle. For some
reason, they both like drinking from the bottle, even though there is always a
full water dish for them to drink from too.
Hope you enjoy the picture.

Dear Paws Chicago,
I adopted Mary Beth May 8, 2007. I wandered into PAWS one day and
instantly fell in love with her. I was told by the wonderful people that worked
at the pet adoption center in Lincoln Park that she was "special". I was a bit
concerned because I didn't exactly know what "special" meant. However, the
moment I let her out at my house, I knew. It was as if she was waiting for me to
find her. She runs around like a wild woman, giving me hours
of entertainment. I just recently purchased a fish reel for her and she can't
get enough of it. I love her so much. I cannot imagine my life without her now.
Thank you so much for finding me my best friend!!
Sincerely ,
Rachel E. Mueller |

I just thought you might like to see a few pictures of Jacob, 5 months
after adoption. He's turned into a really playful boy, although on the 4th of
July, he also turned into a 100 pound lap dog! Thanks again for giving us the
opportunity to love such a wonderful guy.

Carly
and Ted and my German Shepherd, Annie, are getting along very well. She is
trying to mother them by sniffing, poking with her nose, and following them
around. All in all, it looks like a good match. I spend a lot of time laughing
at them and with them. I now feel my house is complete.
Thank you.

McCormick is doing great, has
completely made himself at home and pretty much taken over. We have nicknamed
him
Neko, which is Japanese for "Black."
He has so much character and personality - absolutely adorable, affectionate,
playful and clutzy! Quite possible a little dog trapped in a kitten's body, but
that is what makes him so loveable. Our dog, a golden retriever called Normandy,
does great with him. Our first cat, Bella, is putting up with him - but still a
little miffed. She'll play with him and attempt to mother him - but still let's
us know she's not too happy about him here. That's ok - she'll come around. At
the moment he keeps trying to jump up onto my computer - probably trying to type
a secret message to you (hopefully it's a good one!).
I'm attaching a picture of him with my son - the two have seemed to bond in a
very unique way - they play quite a bit and then collapse to sleep together.
Very cute.
Thanks again - he's wonderful.

Here is Vladimir Ignatius Perlmutter (PAWS name
Otto) , he is doing great.

Roman ( PAWS name Blake) is doing amazing! He
is truly a great addition to our family. My wife and I are so glad that we were
able to adopt him. Roman knows the "sit" command, and adapted well with his big
brother
"Homii." They are inseparable!
Here is a picture of them together. We are so happy with Roman.
- Herm, Minda, Homii and Roman.

Zikr (PAWS name Martini) is doing great. She
has gone on several long car trips and to enjoy it.
She loves to walk and really is hoping to catch a
rabbit or a squirrel. But rabbits are best. She loves her young pack (my grand
children).
She knows when I am going out and goes right into her
crate and lays down...of course she knows she will get
a treat when I return.
I have included a recent photo.

Dear PAWS Chicago,
As we near Puck (PAWS name: Pitch) and Hobbes' (PAWS name: Rugby)six
month birthday, we thought it appropriate to give you an update.
Things could not be going better. We didn’t realize we had adoptedgenuine
athletes! Although we haven't measured, we think they've surpassed the 5'
wood-floor-slide record of last month for this month's astonishing 10'
wood-floor-slide-into-bookcase record. As
well, Puck seems truly gifted in the get-to-every-high-place event and Hobbes in
the squeeze-under-anything-low event (as you can see by the pictures). At the
end of a long day, there's nothing both love more than a long, solid rubdown and
ample space to curl up on
the bed with us. Our enthusiastic thanks to you all for helping us become a
very, very happy family.
Sincerely, Sean, Stephanie, Puck and Hobbes Ware

Shatzi's (PAWS name Honey) terrific. She was
slow to warm up to me (being the male in the family I guess) but the past few
days we've made lots of strides. Definately still skittish - we take 2 walks a
day and everything makes her jump, but she loves the exercise and "meeting" the
neighbors. And boy does she looove the belly-rubs!
We're very happy with our new addition and think she is too! I've attached a
couple of pictures.

Irma has been re-named: Irma La Deuce ....
and I call her Deuce. She is a dear little pup. I do have her in class
I would love her to be a therapy dog, but she is very fearful of humans.
Attached is a pic of Deuce (Irma La Deuce) with her buddy Lexi. Lexi is a
wonderful big sister to her.
I've also attached an mpeg of Lexi teaching Deuce how to play. I'm amazed at how
gentle Lexi is with her.
I will be taking Deuce to Camp Dogwood in a few days.
She is wonderful around other dogs - just not humans.
Wish us luck on that front!

Johnny is doing beautifully. He and my cat, Avi,
continue to get alongreally... just about perfectly. I am so happy that I
listened to everyone and picked Johnny Depp (yes that is still his name)
because he is a sweetheart!!! He gets (and gives) a ton of lovin'!!
Thanks,
Sharon

We adopted Sophie (PAWS name LuLu) in April
1st this year. She is an absolute sweetheart and we love her so much! The vet
says she is very healthy and happy - thanks to PAWS for taking care of her
before we found her. Sophie loves playing with her stuffed "budda's" and corrals
her toys showing her Border Collie side. Thank you for our great puppy! I have
included some pictures of her first weekend with us.
Thanks again,
Lindsey and Brad |

When I first met Riley (PAWS name Harpo) all
I saw were these big eyesstaring at me from a little basket at the CAC. Though
he would hiss atfirst, he would always let me pet him each time I came into the
CAC, andover time I couldn't stand the idea of someone else taking him home.
HavingRiley come to live with me and my other cat Maggie has been so
incrediblyrewarding and happy. Although he still won't let me pet him unless he
is inthe closet, he has really come into his personality. My shy little guy
loves
to play and jump around and is almost as vocal as my girl cat. He and Maggie are
even starting to chase each other around and play. I think he knows how much I
love him and that he truly has found a forever home. The pictures I
included are from the first day we got home when he was trying to find a place
to hide and photos of him just being himself. Thanks to Robin R. and PAWS for
helping me find the newest addition to my family. -

(PAWS name Ponch) has been renamed to Max. I
was about to email you and tell you that Max has graduated from basic training
course at K9 University on April 23rd. There was a new class starting the next
day after we took him home. He was star of the class because Joan trained him
while he was at K9 and was the show dog for all the tricks. To bad he doesn't
always remember them. We are going to the Intermediate class that starts in
about 6 or 8 weeks.
Here's a picture of my mom, Max and the cat
(Pepper). This was taken shortly after we got home from adopting him from PAWS.
I was putting the cage together and Mom was holding Max while Pepper was
checking out the situation.

Just wanted to say hello and give you a couple of pictures of Elvis...it
was tough to pick them, because I swear we have hundreds of the little guy
posing for the camera. He's having a wonderful time with us between walks on the
lakefront, playing with his favorite squeaky
hedgehog toy, and cleaning our faces constantly with that little tongue of his.
I can't even imagine my life
without him, and I justwanted to thank you so much for making it possible to add
him to our lives!

Hello,
Cyrus (PAWS name Tigger) is doing just fine
as you can see by the attached photo.
Highlights in his recent life include the following:
Rawlings is no longer hissing at him.
He got a good swipe at Gerbilee when we had a recent security breach in the
gerbil compound.
He has discovered the joy of exploring the underside of my box springs.
The newly opened windows are fascinating to him.
Hope you are all doing well.

I thought you might enjoy seeing how Farley is getting along.
We all love him!

(Paws name Betsy) Shay is not the emaciated 2 year old we thought
she was, but closer to a very hungry, all the time, 6 - 9 month old. She is
loving, affectionate, very energetic, and has spring coils for back legs...
She is getting along very well with our 10 year old shepherd mix, Jake -- so we
could not be more pleased...- Tara and Keith

Lucy, (PAWS name Una

We adopted a beautiful 4 month old kitten named Aurora from PAWS last
month. She is adapting very well to her new home.
We changed her name to Keva (an Irish named spelled Caoimhe) and sheresponds to
it quite well. (she runs over to be picked up!)
Patrick and I are extremely happy with Keva!

Here are the pictures of Grandma Josie with (PAWS
name Jenny), who is now known as Isabella. Josie loves the new addition!
Isabella was shy for about 2 days but now she is a great companion and quite
comedic. She is adjusting really well. She loves to eat; she hit the 40 lb. mark
today. She is also constantly in motion. It was nearly impossible to get her to
sit long enough for a picture. She loves to run but you would not believe her
favorite source of entertainment: the stairs! Yes, the "frightened" little dog
tears up and down the stairs all day long. It didn't even take a week!
Have a good day,
Kim Tomlinson

Scooter and George (PAWS names Ford and Regal)
are doing great! They are healthy and have adjusted very well. They love
their new home and we are so happy to have them with us. Scooter loves to
either lounge around on the
couch or chase the curser on the computer and George loves to play with the
water that comes out of the faucet. There are many times where we find them
sleeping together and they are just the cutest brothers!
Thank you PAWS for
our new additions to our family!Margaret & Eric

I just wanted to
give you a Logan update. It will be 8 months Friday and Logan is just wonderful.
He actually sleeps outside while birds and pigeons zoom around. Here's a pic of

enough from Chicago Paws who gave us the tools to help Logan. Have a great
summer everyone!

I adopted Canyon April 21st. He's the perfect dog in every way...I am so thankful
that we found each other! We go running every morning...he loves chasing
squirrels and smelling things along the way so we sprint when necessary and also
stop when the mood strikes. I am so fortunate to have found this amazing
creature who lights up my life. He's totally kind and good natured, well-trained
and an excellent tennis ball catcher and snuggler! I love watching him spin
around to find the perfect resting spot on his doggie bed. Thank you PAWS!
