PAWS Chicago Alumni

Dominique is doing very well, we have changed her name to Alexandra (Lexie).  Our first cat, Ellie, is quite taken with her and has quickly welcomed her into the family. They get along better than we could have hoped for. Having a kitty friend has drastically improved Ellie's behavior...she and Lexie love to play and chase each other around the apartment constantly.  Thanks so much for helping us find a such a great match for our family...we are recommending PAWS Chicago to everyone we know!

- Ryan, Erinn, Ellie & Lexie Lawber

Here are pictures of Cheyenne (previously known as Chloe) and Kaylee (previously known as Sunshine). We adopted Cheyenne in September 2007 and Kaylee in June 2007.  All dogs are doing well and love playing with each other.

- Mary Brush and Kathleen Kerestes

Cocoa is doing well. It took him a little to get out from under the bed, however, he is more happy around the house at this point. In regards to his name, it's the same. Cocoa is having fun chasing my dog "Rico", Boston Terrier mix with French Bulldog. They need more adjustment but Jeff and I are very happy with the new kids. Attached you will find a pic of Coco just waking up.

- Hektor and Jeff

Josh aka Sebastian is doing great! We are a perfect match! Thank you so much for bringing him into my life! Here's a picture for you.

- Denise Gillespie

Jonah, now Joey, is doing great. He's been great fun and is filled with energy. Attached is a picture of him enjoying a Bears victory earlier this season.

Thanks,

Justin

Blondie is doing great and we kept the name of course. She's getting along well with our resident cat. They play and chase each other, sleep, and cuddle together. She is very playful as she is still so young, but it is very entertaining and we love having her around.

Thanks,

Karen

Buster's new name is Maximus, or Max. He is doing great. I don't know if I could have asked for a better dog. He has made things so easy on me because he is so easy going, and listens very well. I would like to thank you and PAWS for helping me adopt him because he is an amazing dog. This is a picture of him at the beach two weekends ago. He was a big fan of the water and other dogs. Thanks again for everything.

Sincerely,

Rob Slette

We are so happy to have Izzy (PAWS name Livvy) as a part of our lives. My sister and I have enjoyed every minute with her. She has an amazing personality; she sometimes doesn't understand why everyone on the street doesn't stop to tell her how cute she is! She loves other dogs she's met at the dog park and my parent's dog Ruby. She has been such a joy!

Bethany Mager

Abbey (formerly Lisa) is doing great. Growing quickly and still working on housebreaking her (just when we think she's getting better we have a bunch of "accidents"), slowly but surely. We start puppy training next week, which should be helpful for all of us. Here's a couple pictures - the best ones we have of her are from right when we brought her home.

- Tera Healy

Nebula & Nova are doing very well thank-you !!! We   are all so happy to have them in our family!!!

Best,

Alice

Snowy relishes the exercise she gets in the yard whether it's chasing tennis balls, squirrels, and she loves her twice daily trips to the dog park--where she has made a few new friends. On Saturday evenings, or as Snowy refers to them as, "the greatest nights of her life," we venture to the Montrose dog beach at dusk to take advantage of the large expanse and really cut loose. Here is a photo of Snowy with her new Evanston friends Mitzi and Toto.

-- Andrew M. Chiacchierini

Bentley is doing just fine. He's the perfect pet.

- Brad

We feel so fortunate to be the proud owners of Boomer. He is such a great dog to everyone who meets him. Thank you for letting us be a part of his life.

- Michael

Gwendolyn is a keeper - she is now known as Macie and is very sassy!  She is getting along very well with Payton, our puggle.  Here's a picture of her sassy self.

Sincerely,

Carmen Santisteven

Her is a photo of Max (PAWS name Little Baby) enjoying his home.

- Barbara

We've been having a wonderful time with Mochi (PAWS name Martin), and he's definitely a joy in our house. He loves to learn new tricks, and loves to play with toys.  He's one of the fastest runner at the dog park, and he's super energetic. There're more things we want to teach him and also possibly learn from him.  We feel lucky to have him and thanks so much for the great opportunity!

Best,

Esther & Max

I adopted a cute little elkhound puppy, Loki, who unfortunately had to put up with condo life. That is no life for an elkhound. Here are a few photographs showing my new best friend Loki at play here in the burbs.

- J. Lindsey

Hi, Guys! It's us--Bootsie and Squeek. We've trained our human servants well. They now know what we like to eat, and we've taken over their living room and bedrooms. My humans figured out why my name is Squeek--because of that grunt sound that I make when I get ready to jump. And our humans have gotten used to keeping at least one of their windows open because we like to sit on the pane, look out, feel the breeze, and watch the world go by. At nighttime, we eat our dinner, and then run after the shoestring with the humans. Our humans love us, and we love them. It is really a great life!

Brian and I have renamed our puppy Morris (PAWS name Chang) and he is sweet, smart, and fun.  His pink freckled nose has helped us make lots of new friends in the neighborhood. Several weeks into obedience training and we're all learning a lot.

Thanks for connecting us with a great dog!

- Sarah

Ellis (Titus) started obedience classes that's been fun. We love Titus and he's a welcomed addition to the family. I have attached a picture of Titus hanging out on his favorite pillow. Again, thank you for helping our family.

Sincerely,

Gloria Tulloch

Bjork is doing fine.  She is now named Henry and lives with her sister George. Yes, George and Henry are girls. They do not snuggle, but they tolerate each other and I think secretly like one another. Henry is a great cat, extremely friendly and vocal. I am told that is the Siamese in her. She made herself at home right away and had no problems adjusting. She has been a great addition and I am happy to have her.

- Kathy

Robby's new name is Wrigley and he is doing great. I could not be any happier with my choice and Sara, his new mommy, loves him so much. He is bigger now that in the picture that I have sent, but since he grows so much everyday it is hard to keep up. He is spoiled rotten, but he is way too cute not to. Thank you Paws for connecting me with him. Wrigley says "ARF."

- Joe

Here is a photo of Montana enjoying her new home.

- Valerie Carlson
I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing Lima (aka Pinky) to come and live in our home.  She is one of the sweetest cats I have ever owned.  I couldn't be without her as part of our family.  It is one of the blessings in my life to share it with her and of course the other four who live with my husband and myself.  One of my greatest joys comes from sharing it with my kitties.  Keep up the good work that you do.

- Connie Peterson

Here is a photo of Bernadette and Lulu at the farm.

- Jon

Carlee (PAWS name Miley) has made our home her home.  She is so inquisitive, and loves everyone!  She spends hours looking out our bay window in the living room. A squirrel in the tree out front entertains her. She also thinks she is a cat. Thank you again for trusting us with her care. Larry said she is my dog, as she follows me all over. When I return home, the greeting I get, it priceless. I don't remember my kids being that happy to see me.

Sincerely,

Maureen and Larry

I changed the little guy's name to Raja (PAWS name Saja) - which means king in hindi (my language). He's doing fine. He has lost a little weight which he needed to do. Here is a picture of him.  He's so hyper still, but he's getting better. Thanks for checking up on him.

- Sangeeta

Cisco is doing great. She is adapting well to her new home and to her little sister. The whole extended family came over to meet her after she arrived and everyone brought treats and toys to welcome her to our family.

- Mario and Melissa, Cisco and Arwen

Beck is currently operating under the alias Carmel Fuzz. A tough name for a former alley cat. He cuddles with a little toy lamb, sleeps under the covers with us at night and takes baths/showers whenever someone leaves the door open.  All is well!  I've attached a picture and I'm always referring people to PAWS. Thanks for keeping Fuzz safe for us!

- Marguerite St. Clare

Nika is doing fine. She is beautiful and smart. She loves her older brother - Chewy.  We changed her  name for Meika. We love her very, very much.

- Julita

Snuggles (AKA Grace) is the sweetest dog. She has never met a person or a dog that she does not like. We are thrilled with her and consider ourselves so fortunate to have adopted her. We thank PAWS getting her to us. Attached is a photo of this superb creature.

- Diane

Danny is doing just fine and we kept his name. We love him!

- Sara

We brought Cash home from PAWS and as soon as he came into our house and was released from his carrier, he made himself right at home. Cash has been a wonderful addition to our family. He tolerates a LOT of attention from our 9 year old triplets!  He is an absolute dream; a cat with a somewhat peculiar and very sweet nature. Cash now has a very good life, and our lives are better with him in our family!  The attached photo shows Cash in the lap of luxury with Victoria.  Thank you, PAWS!

Sincerely,

Linda Sorin

We have re-named Chappy. His new name is Jackson and he has been a great addition to our family. He LOVES getting attention from everybody and anybody, is very friendly and loves playing with other dogs. He goes to daycare 2 times a week and when he comes home, he is so exhausted. We are just happy to be able to adopt a great dog like Jackson. We will definitely go back to Paws in the future when we decide to get another dog.

Thank you,

Michelle Antolak

Smeagol has settled in very well.  I kept his name the same because he responds to it.  Things have worked out very well with my other cat, Molly and him.  He likes looking out the windows and getting a sun bath while enjoying the view.  He is affectionate and playful.  He is so sweet and I'm so glad I have him.  Thanks to everyone at PAWS who volunteers and works there.  You all are exceptional people.

- Mary

Just wanted to write in and say that Eli (PAWS name Ralph) is doing great! He chose me when I went to investigate the new adoption center. I was there the day it opened to see the facility as I am a PAWS volunteer. However, when I came across my excited little ball of black hair, I just couldn't leave by myself. Eli came home nervous and severely matted due to neglect, but he's since gotten a makeover and acts like a brand new dog! You can see his handsome eyes that were once barely discernible. He's loving our walks around the neighborhood, and the occasional piece of sausage. We're looking forward to our first airplane ride home for Christmas! I attached a photo of him with my other family dog, Cuddles.

Happy Holidays!

Melissa and Eli

Claus's name is Erwin now. He seems really happy here. He's affectionate and playful, enjoys napping in our windowsills, and rests on my lap while I'm reading. I absolutely love him!

Sincerely,

Nicky

Hello to everyone at PAWS!

Just a few weeks ago we met little Mya and fell instanly in love. Watching her learn and grow has been such a special adventure, and we never couldhave imagined how much joy she would bring to our lives! Thank you!!!

Lindsay & Adam

Tabitha is such a wonderfully tempered kitten. She is active, talkative, and playful but also just loves to curl up and take a nap. She loves to jump in the rabbit's cage when I'm feeding the rabbit (which is why she is in a cage in the picture). Tabitha definitely has a very distinctive personality and her likes/dislikes are shown all the time. I'm so happy that I adopted her and don't think I could have found a better fit for me. Thank you so much!

- Kelly Paulett

Henry (PAWS named Cubbie) is doing great. He was a pretty nervous guy when we adopted him but he is making a lot of progress. He still gets a little nervous around strangers but feels comfortable around us. He loves to play with his sister Sprinkles, the Jack Russell Terrier. They like to run around the yard together and go for long walks.  Thanks again for Henry.

Megan and Ray

Thank you for the follow up. We adopted Cozy and Jelly (Jelly's name changed to Rosie, Cozy stayed the same-very fitting).

Thanks for everything.

- Mark

Thank you so much for the wonderful puppy. His name was "Ducky" now he is called Bongo. He is adjusting well to his new home. He has gained some weight and his coat is filling in. He is the sweetest little thing!!!

- Molly

Well, Urkel is doing just fine. We have changed his name to Buckley, and he seems to be getting used to our apartment. He sleeps with us at night, and does whatever he feels like doing during the day. He likes other people too. He likes fresh water from the tub faucet even though we give him fresh water everyday. Thanks again, we love our cat!

- John and April

This is Ella. You knew her as Honey.

- Tabitha Rodman

Francesca (now Fresca) has made herself right at home. She spends most of her days perched on the windowsill checking things out - she's quite the watch cat and loves to tell me all about her sightings! I'm including a photo of her in one of her favorite spots. Many thanks to PAWS for all the hard work you do to find homes for these great friends!

Best,

Kate Palm

I adopted Lily (PAWS name Lauren). I must say first off, that the facility and the staff were absolutely amazing. They made us feel at home and helped us with all information we needed. They were kind and helpful, it was a great experience. My little Lily is the one of the best decisions I have made in my life. She is an absolutely wonderful puppy and she learns new things everyday. Thank you Paws for rescuing her and bringing her into my life! I know I will be seeing you all again soon....when Lily needs a brother or sister! I love her so much!!!

Thanks again!

Francesca Pellegrino

Bentley is doing just fine. He is starting to think he is a human child.

- Brad

It's been a whirlwind month for the two kittens we adopted, Ukko & Jadwiga (PAWS names Milton & Ramona).  Little Jadwiga (or 'Vigga', as we call her) is just a plain lovable and a crazy fur ball. She's got limitless energy, and will follow either of us wherever we go -- especially if it's the kitchen. Ukko has discovered all the perfect spots for napping, and is very affectionate around us or any of our guests. Their favorite activity is to sit on the windowsill, and watch the daily life in Chicago.

- J. & Steph

I have changed Sanders name to Baby Tony. He's great. He's very mischievous at times but that's how they all are. He's very sweet and snuggly. Thank you so much for your help.

- Anna Horona

Hello! Just an update on Irwin. He has a new brother, who we rescued a few months ago, named Strider, and they are best of pals!! I just wanted to thank you guys again for bringing him into my life! I can't imagine it without him! Here is a recent snapshot of "my boys!"

Thanks again!

Connie, Adam, Irwin, & Strider

Joey (PAWS name Herbie) has become one of the family. He is playful and a delight to have around. He and Polo our toy fox play all day. He thinks he is a lap dog with his gangly legs and deer like build it's really kind of funny. He a character and loved very much.

- Liz DeBoni

Cedric and Russell are quite happy in their new home. It didn't take them long at all to get comfy in my favorite chair. Russell is always wherever I am, and if you can't find Cedric he's probably on top of a bookshelf. Thanks so much for saving these guys and giving me a chance to share their company.

- Cheryl Koester

I've got an update on Momma, now known as Janie Jones, for you.  Janie is doing great in her new home. She is the sweetest cat I have ever met and is the perfect lap cat, jumping right into my lap anytime I am sitting on the couch or at my computer desk. In fact, that is where she is sitting right now as I write this email. She has been a terrific addition to my home and I can't imagine life without her now.  I can't thank the friendly staff at PAWS enough for all their help in making sure I found the perfect cat.

- Brad Obermeyer

Titus (PAWS name Trooper) is a real character. He is a true lap cat, a real sweetheart, and a total love bug. He gets along with all the animals in our house. We think that he is more the alpha dog than any of our dogs. He keeps all of them in line and is the king of the couch. My other cat, Misha, and him get along pretty well. She's still kind of being a brat but will play with him often. We would like to thank you so very much for saving him and allowing us to adopt him. He is a real blessing and I couldn't have asked for a better cat to adopt.

Thank you,

The Blizniaks (Bill and Dana & Sam, 3; Misha, 5; Titus, 2; Dino, 3; and Deja 2)

We are so happy that Katie (PAWS name Precious) came into our lives on the opening day of the Clybourn shelter. My 9- and 10-year old daughter and son fell in love with "Precious" instantly. She's loving life with her adopted "big sister" Rosy. Katie truly is "precious" and now we can't imagine life without her.

With Gratitude,

Kirsten, Liam, Erin and Jonas Maxwell

Hi! I just wanted to send a little update on Christopher (formerly Christoff), who I adopted in June. He's an adorable little furball who loves to cuddle with me and always lets me know what's on his mind (he LOVES  to talk!). He and my other cat Henry get along very well. They like to chase each other around the apartment and also give each other licking baths. Christopher also has a very healthy appetite and is just as sweet and entertaining as he can be.

- Jennifer Krasula

We wanted to let you know that Dutch (PAWS name Tyson) is doing well and has adjusted handsomely to our family. It feels as though he has always been with us. We take almost daily trips to Pup Town dog park and have a large roster of friends there. Dutch is the most well behaved, affectionate, and adorable little guy we can imagine. We could not thank PAWS enough for bringing us together.

Sincerely,

Courtney, Colter, and Dutch

Things are going great with Bobo.  He has become our best friend, in addition to with our other PAWS kitty, Carol. I attached a photograph taken of him. I kept his name but more often call him Bobo Kitty.

Thank you again!

- Emily

I have renamed Count Chocula, Gianni. We are doing great as you can tell in the pictures. He  loves his playmate Dackel, the dog in the picture.  Gianni has grown quite a personality and talks a lot, but that's probably because I talk to him excessively. He loves everyone that comes to visit and they love him. We are well on our way to many, many happy memories together.

- Anne

As promised, we are sending you some pictures of Oliver (PAWS name Larry). Oliver is doing very well . He respond to his name and some commands like sit, come, stay, etc. Right now we are taking obedient class with him. My daughter is very happy to have him around her all the time. We'll keep in touch.

- The Channins

Avie & Gordie are doing great in their new home.  I'm sending along a cute pic.  :)

- Julietta

Halle Berry is now named and answering to Tula (too-lah). This is a fun name to say to her in a sing-song voice. She is the official head of the household, running the show and often annoying Rosie (another Paws alumni). She is adorable and into everything. Sweet natured, but a fiesty, "card-carrying" calico. She is much loved!!! I have also attached a picture of Rosie - in her favorite position, just "hanging out" while keeping an eye out for any sneak attacks from Tula.

- Tressa Pankovits

Hudson (formerly Corbin) is doing very well! Hudson gets compliments every day on walks on how cute he is and how much he has grown....he no longer gets comments on how big his head is! He is very smart and very curious....but is practicing being a gentleman. He loves his red wool blanket, kong, nylabone toys, car rides, and most of all his new family!  I have attached a recent picture of Hudson.

- Carla

I adopted Tallulah (PAWS name Teeny) almost a year ago. I couldn't believe I found her, and I am thankful to this day that she is in my life. She is the most intelligent, friendly, sweet and healthy cat I have ever seen. She is docile and playful and trusting and silly all wrapped up in one adorable little package. We have a deep understanding of each other, and she knows that my touch and scent and voice mean trust and love. I can't thank PAWS enough for providing me with the perfect match that I've found in my wonderful little furry soul mate. Thank you, PAWS!

- Dana Hildreth

I wish you could see Mellow now. He is a brave dog and now is in-touch with his herding self. He is certain to get me to bed before 11pm each night. No one strays with Mello along. He is fiercely loyal, knows who belongs to his herd, is puppy playful, and would walk all day just to be petted and told what a wonderful friend he is to us. Not a day goes by without us saying what a wonderful companion he is. Thanks for bringing Mello into our lives!                                                                               Best Wishes,

Troy

Hi PAWS!  Here is a recent picture of Jonas (PAWS name Kernel). Jonas became immediate best friends with his new big sister, Maizie and they are now inseparable. Maizie would like to express her thanks to PAWS for her new little brother (even though he chews on her legs).

THANKS PAWS!

- Erica, Vince & Maizie

We permanently adopted Tyson on September 8. He was our foster pet and we instantly fell in love with his gentle, yet goofy personality. Although he came to us with a broken leg, he is doing very well now. Our long walks make for great exercise! What a beautiful soul he has.

- Kimberly

Here are Lovey and brother/playmate, Rocky, lounging on the waterbed!

- Candy

Here is a photo of Mikey and Molly.  They were 8 weeks  old when got them from PAWS. They have been to doggy training and did okay, although Molly still likes to pull on her walks. Mike developed knee problems in both rear legs at 6 months old, but after successful surgery on both knees he  is doing just fine. We can't thank PAWS enough for two wonderful pets. We recommend you to all our friends that may be looking for a dog or cat.

- George and Shirley Graves

Yaddi (PAWS name Pogo) is the best dog ever!! He loves to snuggle and watch "Dancing with the Stars" with us. He is a well travelled little guy. He comes with us to the Lake of the Ozarks where he lays out by the lake and enjoys the sun and nice breeze. Yaddi came from the north side of Chicago to St. Louis where he is now a Cardinals fan and sports his jersey every time they play. Thanks PAWS for such a great companion.

- The Hoffmans

Here is a pic of the two cuties - Ferris Mueller and Tip. They seem to have become the best of friends. Ferris is still named Ferris but Tip has been renamed Flash. They are both healthy, doing well and bouncing off the walls as you would expect young cats to do. I'm very happy that they have gotten so close.

- Mark

We have changed Cody's name to Truman. He is doing great, he is certainly a lot of fun and fits just right into our family.

Thanks a bunch,

Jane Wharton

Lotus is doing great. We changed his name to Brooklyn since we both recently moved from New York. I recently introduced him to my mom's Schnauzer. He's a lot older so Brooklyn was a little too playful for him. Here is a picture.

Thanks,

Mia

Chance's new name is Gunther. He has been wonderful and is doing really well in his new home. He goes for a lot of walks and loves playing fetch at the park. He is finishing up his training class in a few weeks and loves to learn. I've attached a pic of Gunther with his friend Max. I couldn't be happier with him and think he is happy with his new family too.

Thanks,

Stefanie Haller

Willy is a great dog - - other than a GREAT streak of stubbornness and desire to steal food from the table & countertops. He is training us to not leave edibles out unsupervised.  On more than one occasion, my son says, "I love Willy", and one of my daughters has stated more than once, "Willy completes our family". I believe the above gives an overall "thumbs up" for Willy.

Thanks,

Anne Mulvaney

Zipper is doing great! We actually re-named her Pepper, and couldn't be happier about our decision to adopt.  So far she loves the doggie beach and "puptown" park. Thanks for checking in.

- Katie and Kevin Flynn

We love our new member of the family, now named Burt (PAWS name Tommy).  He is doing very well - hungry, curious, playful and incredibly sweet. We've set him up with a chair by our front window which is excellent for bird watching. We were incredibly impressed with the new PAWS adoption center and the people working there. Everyone there must be so proud of the great work they are doing. We will continue to be supporters.  We are very happy with our new friend.

- Dawn and David Jones

Here's a pic of Hoss (now known as Harry) with his "brother" Al who is also a PAWS alum. He's a great dog!

- Jackie

The cats are great.  We've renamed them from Chuck and Buck to Comet and Nas respectively. They often sleep with us at night, and love to play.  In addition, congratulations on your move, and hope the new location is going well.

- Max and Ashley

Salem is doing very very well. He's put on some weight (he was kind of skinny when I got him) and he has one of the nicest personalities I've ever seen in a cat. He gets along with everyone, and even allows guests to have a spot on his couch. Here is a photo of him stretching.

Thanks again,

Ken James

Things are going great with Duncan. The name has remained the same, and he is loving life chasing butterflies and running on the beach.

The new facility is fantastic. Almost makes me wish I were a dog. . .

With kind regards,

Robert Schlyer

The kittens are just fantastic! We've actually named Baby Girl Daisy, and the name fits her well. George is pretty mischievous - he likes to sneak into things and hide, and then jump out when you least expect it. Daisy is a little quieter, and stands by and watches George get into all sorts of business. The kittens also love to play together, running around and tumbling about (usually in the wee hours of the morning.) They're both growing nicely, though it seems like George is going to be a larger cat then Daisy.  We love our kittens!

Thanks muchly,

Jeremy and Alex

Scout is doing good.  His name now is Harry Winston Churchill.  He's doing really great!  He's gotten a little chubby and is quite the trouble maker but we love him anyway.

Sincerely,

Jessica Fitzgerald

Calvin (PAWS name Bernard) is doing well. Thanks for checking in.

- Melissa

We are doing great with Khaki. She has adapted well to her new home!

- Dave and Abe

Iceland and Trummie (now Judy) are doing great. Iceland is the spark plug of the two, she seems to never stop, while Judy is the more affectionate one. They have great personalities that are only getting stronger (and more defined) by the day. They are a wonderful addition to our family and we can't thank you enough for helping us bring them into our lives.

Thanks again,
Alex M. Langenfeld

Things are going great with Lucy (PAWS name Dixie). We're loving the process of getting to know her better.  I've attached a photo.  Thanks for checking in!

- Dina

Kara is doing just great.  She is very lovable and loves to kiss people.  My son was in from college last weekend and attached is a photo of the two of them playing in the backyard.

- Lada Plumtree

Three and a half years later, Bea and Opie are still the sweetest dogs ever.  They spend almost every moment together, playing or cuddling. They seem to love everyone (human and dog) they see. We couldn't ask for better dogs.

Thanks again!

 - Katie & Semih Aslan

We wanted to give you an update on Judy.  She is doing fantastic. She gets along great with her canine step-sister, Kodi and her canine cousins, Trixie and Sheila. Judy has the sweetest disposition and we feel fortunate that we were able to adopt her. As you can see by her photo Judy has taken permanent residence on our bed and sleeps with us every night. We love and adore Judy! We can not imagine a life without Judy and thank PAWS for bringing us together.

- Sherry, Mike & family

Bailey is doing great, attached is a picture of him. He likes finding little nooks to rest in like my closet or under the dinning table and chairs like in the photo. He is such a sweet cat. I kept his name the same and he gets along great with my other cat, Pinkerton.

Thanks,

Nancy

Meika is doing very well! She has adjusted well to her new home and we just love her. She's such a sweetie! She loves to go for long walks and she loves to be groomed. She just loves to be pampered and fussed over.  Meika now lives with three cats who are still adjusting to her. Meika just wants to sniff them and give them kisses, but the cats are still a little nervous around her. They are staying separated for now. They'll warm up to each other in time.  Meika is simply the best dog. Every time I take her for a walk, people comment on what a beautiful girl she is. We're so happy to have her in our family. Thanks, PAWS!

- Sandy & Jeff Dorrian

Smokey is great!  She loves to tackle our feet in bed, sprint around the condo, sit in front of the TV for hours on end and put her little paw prints all over the furniture and kitchen appliances. She also has  a habit of tackling and wrestling with our other PAWS adoptee cat Jinny and annoying our lab Mickey. Smokey has made our lives more fun and is a great companion for Jinny, who has been showing her motherly character for the kitten. We love her very much and can't imagine our home without her. Thanks for bringing her into our family!

- Chad Hopkins and Emily Augé

I adopted Lucy (PAWS name Fizzie) and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me! Lucy is so sweet and very devoted to me.  I'm so lucky to have her. She is up to 35 LBS and in training now.

- Nancy Sterling

Wayne's doing great and settling in nicely. Thanks!

- Jennifer Vimarco

Miley (PAWS name Goldie) is doing great in her new home. She doesn't realize that for a 5 month old puppy she is pretty big so when she jumps on you she almost knocks you down!! She is the most perfect dog we could have hoped to adopt. She is getting ready for her first Bears game and she loves wearing her jersey. Thanks PAWS for bringing Miley into our lives!!!

- Trisha and Don

Gulliver is doing wonderfully. He's happy and loving. Everyone who meets him raves about how beautiful and friendly he is. He loves to be around people, especially visitors. One of his favorite places is in the window sill (of course), and he loves watching the squirrels running along the cables on the outside of the building next door. There's also a cat in the apartment next door; so they will sit in their windows and meow at each other. So cute.

- Isaac and Gulliver

Angelica (PAWS name Tara) is doing great. She and Valentino are very in love. They are a blast to watch play. Our little girl is really growing up. I attached a photo of them playing, they are always waiting to see who's attacking first. Usually Angelica gets the upper hand.

Pam

Mink (aka Ellie) is doing great! I adore her, and she has fit in quite nicely with the rest of the brood here. She gets to see her brother, Jake (aka Spock), regularly as my boyfriend adopted him, too. They love to wrestle in the backyard and then curl up together at night when it's time to sleep. Here is a pic of her and Spock on my back deck. Her ear still stands up straight, although one day I woke up and it was laying down. It bounced back up by the end of the day!

Thanks again for checking in!

Rebecca

Attached is a new photo of Muffy. Enjoy!

Just wanted to send you a recent picture of myself in my new home. My mistress Ginny didn't like the name Mazey and said I should have a more fitting name. Since I like her to give me a lot of kisses and hugs and also because she's Italian, she has given me the name "Bella" since I'm full of amore! I love being held by her like a baby as I rest my head and front paws on her shoulder. That's all for now, think I'm going to go look out of the window and watch the birds in the garden and when I get sleepy I'll just take a kitty-nap on the couch.

Luv & Licks,

Bella Di Nucci

Two years ago, my boyfriend and I adopted two cats from your center on Clark - Simba and Nala (now known as  Terry and Tamsin).  They're truly wonderful companions.

- Chelsea

Chuckles (left) is doing great since I adopted him from PAWS! As you can see from the picture, he has a new girlfriend named Frankie and it took them all of one day to get along. After knowing Chuckles since last fall as a volunteer at the CAC, I couldn't imagine changing his name because it somehow fits him. Anyone who knew Chuckles at the CAC wouldn't know he's the same cat. He is a great example of an animal that truly needed to be in a home to come out of his shell. I encourage anyone who is hesitant about adopting a shy cat to think twice because it could be a completely different animal once you get them home. I look forward to many more years with Chuckles!

- Missy

Thank you so much for choosing us to adopt Oliver! Oliver has added so much joy to our life and we hopewe've added as much to his - by his belly rub requests.  We have had so much fun getting to know Oliver and look forward to having a long life together as a family. Thanks again for all you did to take care of Oliver!

Sincerely,
Katie, Doug and Oliver
Nilla has been bugging us to write you and thank you for saving her from last year. She had it tough for a while, living on the streets, scared of everything, and such a little thing! She wants us to tell you she is happy, healthy and loving life. And we want to thank you as well for saving our girl! We can't imaginelife without her!

- Dan, Katie and Nilla

Cammy has three "big brothers" who indulge her and let her boss them around. She purrs longer and more often than most cats, and is extraordinarily softer and chubbier than the average 41/2 month old - which endears her even more to us!

- Patience

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that Pete (PAWS name Toby) and Snoopy (PAWS name Chili) are doing great. They are such sweet and affectionate dogs. We attached pictures of their favorite activities. Snoopy climbs to the top of everything, and Pete loves to play in the hose. Some of their other favorite pastimes include wrestling, eating and playing with other dogs in the park or at doggy daycare.

- Mara and Kevin Maas
Lanna is doing fantastic. I have changed her name, she is now Calypso.

- Nicole

Three weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to adopt a
second cat for our apartment, to keep our current cat,
Yuki company. I went to the PAWS website and
immediately fell in love with little Sophie, a one year
old kitty who looked so sweet. It wasn't love at
first sight with Yuki and Sophie, but after a couple
of weeks, they started getting along and even gave
each other kisses. Sophie is just a delight and
brings youthful energy to our home.

Thank you,
Caroline Louis
Pugsley and Chelsea are adapting quite well. In fact they have managed to turn everything into a new toy for themselves. Their favorite toys are paper bags, fake mice, and feather teasers. We couldn't have received a better pair of kittens, it was a perfect match!  Thanks for the following up with them.  I have attached a picture of the two in front of the window, one of their favorite napping spots.

Thanks again,
Tracy Donoghue & Greg Campbell

Wolfie came into my life as a foster cat and, after two months together, I just couldn't let him go. He has since moved with me back into my family home and has flourished in family life. Wolfie is completely unrecognizable as the silent, meek little cat I began fostering back in May! Thank you, PAWS, for bringing this little angel into all of our lives!
- Annie Pistas
Hello PAWS! Just wanted to send an update on Sophie (PAWS name Lulu).  Sophie loves coming along on our many trips to Michigan and chasing after birds on the beach. Her puppy cousins keep her busy teaching her
to swim and she digs every chance she gets! She has been such a joy for us with her great loving personality - even our cat is starting to love her. Thanks again

- Lindsey and Brad

Gwyn and her brother Felix are doing great. They were spayed and neutered have recovered nicely from their surgery. They also received their last set of kitten vaccinations. Attached is a picture for your album.

Thanks,

Mike Becker and Ed Goodwin

Clove is doing just fine. We have renamed her Chloe, and she is just a doll.  Some of the neighborhood kids come over to play with her almost every day --she's very popular!  She's learning to get along with our 10-year-old cat, Buster. Usually they do just fine, although every now and then Chloe can't figure out why the cat doesn't want to be licked and doesn't respond well to her bouncing.  I guess her doggie charms aren't exactly a universal language, but sometimes they seem pretty close!

- Kaylea

Here is a picture of Maddie, new name "SPIRIT". She is doing wonderful here. I don't believe she could be happier, she smiles all the time, and we love her dearly. Again thank you for our wonderful companion & friend.

- Dianne & Family

Sophie (PAWS name Josephine) is doing really well! We absolutely love and adore her. Her latest achievement: she has learned to 'say hi' to our guests by giving her paw and shaking their hand.  She continues to play with her pal Charlie (also a PAWS alum) - here they are at the end of a serious play date.  Thank you again for helping us find her!

- Susa & Alex

Here is a recent photo of Krush (PAWS name Chantilly Lace). As you can see she has turned into a pretty lady-cat. She is a really great addition to our life.

Thank you,

Kristina

Hi, Marney is doing fine. We have started our second class session. She is a challenge to train, but I'm sure she's smart and can do it. I am hoping to do agility with her too, as it would fit her personality. I have really never had such a cuddly dog. She is also proving to be therapeutic for my senior dogs too!                                                                                        - Amy
Sashie has a new name - Buckley. He is very playful and very loving to everyone that he meets. We are so happy that he loves us just as much as we love him!  I think his expression in the picture speaks for itself - as if he is saying "I've found my forever home and I'm not leaving!". Please send our thanks to all the PAWS staff that helped us with our adoption.

Sincerely,                                                               Vanessa and Brendan

Hi! I just wanted to update you on Irwin. I adopted him on April 1st, and he is doing great! A few days after he came home, he came out of his shell and hasn't gone back. He loves to run around with me in the yard and run away from my crawling 9 month old nephew! He is graduating from obedience training this week, he is really doing well. He is a wonderful addition to my family! Thanks again!

- Connie & Irwin

Comet is doing great. We changed his name to Buddha when we adopted him. He's been extremely playful and well-trained -- overall, hard to imagine the place without him now. Thank you and your organization for all your help.

- Fred

Everybody is doing great. These two are just the best cats, very friendly and loving, they are perfect. We renamed them both the long hair is Domingo and the short hair is Vince (PAWS names Trenton & Berkley)..

Have a nice day,                                                                   Bryan

Indiana Jones-Carini (PAWS name Fozzy) is fantastic! He enjoys long walks on the beach, chasing birds, and sleeping. He's also really into waving and high-fiving us while pointing us in the direction of the nearest treat! We love him so much that we're thinking he might need a companion sometime soon! Here's Indy at one of his favorite activities!

- Peggysue Piedra

Just wanted to let you know that everything is going great so far with Olivia. We decided to change her name to something similar with less syllables, so her new name is Olive. We think it's a cute name and it seems to fit her personality. Thank you for helping to make this a wonderful experience for us, we are very excited and feel quite fortunate to have Olive in our lives!

- Meg and Ed

Here is a picture of Leo and Magglio (PAWS name Junior). Magglio is a wonderful addition to the family and we love him very much. He is affectionate, chatty, inquisitive, and full of energy. He and Leo spend a lot of time chasing each other around; they also groom and nap together.  I truly appreciate all the time and energy you gave to help me find the perfect cat!

Sincerely,                                                                  Clare

Well - it's coming up on the 2 year anniversary of when we adopted Nola (PAWS name Bill) from your facility in October 2005. He has been the best pet we ever had and he is so loveable!! Although he still hides when a thunderstorms rolls through, he has adjusted quite well over the years. He now enjoys a spoiled life now - going to the groomers, getting bones to chew and has a companion, another rescue pet, Roxie. Thank you PAWS for being part of the Katrina pet rescue.

- Jeannine, John & Kayla

I adopted Tatey about two weeks ago after seeing he was back on the website again. Tatey's love and sweet way has filled my home door to door.  He is adorable and I am so grateful to have him! Thank you Paws for my boy!!

- Terry

Hello everyone!  Just wanted to let everyone know that Moo and Bit are doing great! Here are a few pictures to pass along.

- Allison

Romeo is doing really well in his new home. I did change his name though and his new name is Clark. I thought that was more fitting since his new sister's name is Addison and the two of them have quickly become best buds. Addison, my two year old Tortie, has become a completely new cat now that she has a friend to play with and keep her company! He has been a wonderful addition to our family, very sweet and affectionate, and I thank you again for all of the great work you do.

Thanks again,

Rachelle

Trapper's new name is Rocky and he is a great addition to our family. He is so smart & loyal to the kids it is ridiculous - he is a built in babysitter. He gets along great with our 2 cats who have taught him how to climb on our window ledge, sunbathe, and watch people in the park. He also walks along the back of our couch and tries to use their scratch post, I think he thinks he is a cat!! I am so happy to have him as part of our family!! Thank You PAWS for bringing us together!!

- The Kappel Family

To all the wonderful people at PAWS who gave us our kitty,

Ringo, now named Tag, is a wonderful kitty and we love him so very much. He has settled into the routine of the house and acts like he owns the place - which of course, he does.

We will take care of him and love him for the rest of his life. Thank you for all your work for Tag and the thousands of other animals who would not be alive without you.

- Rebecca Norman

Hello to everyone at PAWS Chicago! We wanted to thank you for such a wonderful experience and to let you know  that the mastiff mix we adopted, Guinness "Dudley" Lohman (formerly Dudley) is doing wonderful. We named him Guinness in honor of adopting him the day before St. Patrick's Day. He follows our 11 month old mix, Caesar, around and they play all the time. He is adorable and we love him so much. Thank you for everything you do.

- Allison, Adam, Caesar and Guinness Lohman

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at PAWS
for our new addition. Ethan's new name is Gus and he is great. He went in for his first check up with our vet. The
pictures that I have attached are of Gus with his big
sister, Lady (8 years old). She treats him as if he were
her son. I have another dog, Goldie (2 ½ years old) and she
and Gus have a great time in our big yard. They play very
nice together. Thanks again for all of your help and for Gus!!

- Amarilis Dyszczakowski
Wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that Soleil (adopted as Molly in February) is doing wonderfully. Her days are pretty full, with a busy schedule of napping, taking long walks, playing with her toys and posing for her adoring parents' cameras. There's even been some talk about finding a sibling now that we have a big new house. I'll keep you posted...

- Paul

We adopted Cupcake in May (her name is now Mikki). She was a bit of a handful at first, just being a puppy and getting used to her new home. We did some intensive training with her
and that made a big difference. She is great with all the kids, and is gentle with all children she meets as well. She's doing great, and we are very appreciative to Paws for the adoption opportunity and the professionalism we experienced with you
during the process.

Best regards,                                                            Suzanne Muchin
Hi! Just wanted to check in. Sagan (PAWS name Macy) is doing great! She is around eight months old now and just completed class.
She is amazingly smart, loves to train, and is one of the most kind
hearted, fun dogs I have ever met. Thanks so much to PAWS for bringing her into my life.  I cannot imagine being without her.

- Tracie Mayfield

Angelica (formerly Tara) is doing great. My 11 month old Valentino is in love with her (as am I) and a great big brother. They hit it off in about 1 hour after they met. I think they are soul mates and Val couldn't be happier to have a little friend. They chase and play with each other constantly. Valentino can hardly take his eyes off of her for one second. I'm glad that it worked out so well and surprised also.

Thanks,                                                                      Pam
Tabitha is such a burst of energy!!!!  She loves watching  TV, is very curious about computers, and is so friendly. I think my boyfriend and all my friends are hooked. She is getting along really well with her sister Thumper (the bunny). She actually has been laying by Thumper's cage and trying to eat with Thumper.
