Hi PAWS Chicago,
I have attached a new picture of Bo. When you had him his name was just Bo, but since then, I have made some slight adjustments.  His new full name is now Boaguard Horatio. Hope you are well and thank you.
- Steve Anderson

Hi PAWS Chicago,
As you can see we are both doing very well.  Zikr (PAWS name Martini) has started attending obedience classes, and she is re-learning some good behavior.
Thank you,
Emory and Zikr

Hi PAWS,
My husband, Matt, and I are the ones who adopted Mr. Peaches and Sweet Grey from PAWS. Everything is going well! We love our new babies. We did change their names. Mr. Peaches is now Boomer and Sweet Grey is now Stella. Boomer is active and
loves to play. He especially loves to play when we make the bed in the morning. He chases the sheets!  Stella is still shy and

scared, though she is warming up to me. She loves to sit upstairs in my home office with me and has taken command of my reading chair! We love Boomer and Stella very much, and they have both brought us so much joy!  It's been a little hard to get a picture of little Ms. Stella but we haven't given up! I've attached a photo of Boomer that we took at Christmastime. One of his favorite places to sleep was under our Christmas tree. Thanks, Ela

Basil (PAWS name Apollo)

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I attended the volunteer orientation last night and thought I would send some pictures and an update on Pesto and Basil for the alumni page. Pesto (PAWS name Danny) and Basil (PAWS name Apollo) were adopted on Sept 1, 2005. They were brought in from the same foster care home but were not from the same litter. They are brothers and best friends now, playing, sleeping & snuggling together. Pesto and Basil have brought so much joy,              Pesto (PAWS name Danny)
love and laughter to my home. They are the warmest, friendliest cats I have had in my life. Everyday I look forward to coming home and seeing them waiting for me on the other side of the door they know it is feeding time. :) In April they both turn two years old. Thank you PAWS. Pesto and Basil have been such a gift!
- Nicole Barille

Hi PAWS!
Ricky (adopted out in January 2006) is doing great! He is such a crazy boy. He is always keeping us busy and entertained. He is quite the cuddler and loves to snuggle under the blankets first thing in the morning. He has a big love of peanut butter, his Kong, other dogs, and people. He completed puppy class last February and is doing well. We can't wait for the warmer weather so he can visit all

his friends at our nearby dog park. Thanks PAWS.  We look forward to more future adoptions with you!  Sincerely,  Monica Niemczewski

Dear PAWS,
We're so happy that Pippin (formerly known as Lemmie at PAWS) has joined our family. He's doing so well that we thought we'd give you an update and send some photos. Pippin is well into the active and curious stage and is often the life of the party around here. He loves games, chasing shiny things, jumping for the feather on a string, running up and down the hallway and inspecting everything
and anything that is cooking or being eaten. Pippin loves playing hide 'n seek in cardboard boxes and paper shopping bags. He still loves to wrestle with his older 'brother' Misha, who's got about 12 lbs on him. Sometimes the two sit next to each other, and sometimes Pip follows Misha around and does what he does. Pippin purrs almost constantly around people and is very good at communicating when he wants to play a game. He's also, thankfully, learned how to relax and will cuddle for hours, or fall asleep on your lap while you use the computer. Inevitably, we've fallen in love and Pippin really returns that affection. We're so glad we adopted from PAWS. Thanks so much - John Dugan

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Here is a picture of Oscar and Felix (formerly Orson and Levi). They are nine months old now and completely full of life. This actually is one of their few calm moments. We are all doing fine. Thanks for everything.
- Cary

Hi Everyone at PAWS,
Just an update on the dog formerly known as Frenchie... First off her name is now Zelda and she has adjusted to it wonderfully. It was as if Zelda was a long lost member of our family. We love her and more importantly she loves us!  She is already spoiled with a new spring lineup of clothes and a diamond studded color. She is even going to be in a fashion show at Petco next month! She loves
playing and snuggling and most importantly has adapted to her feline brothers and sisters wonderfully. (I don't think they like her, but they tolerate her as only cats do.) She has been to our regular vet and got a perfect bill of health!  I just want to thank everyone at PAWS for allowing Zelda and our family to meet. Everything happens for a reason and we are so pleased that Zelda picked our family! Thank you again! - Elizabeth Pikes

Hi PAWS,
Keelee is doing great. We kept her name because it was unique. She had a couple of rough weeks at first with diarrhea. But I took her to the vet and she was treated. Since then, it has been a challenge to find a wet food that doesn't irritate her stomach but she has been doing great on a mix of Euknoba Low-Residue and Science Diet Hairball Control diet. She keeps me busy running around and playing

with her. We're still going over to the adoption center on Clark trying to find her a playmate. Robin has been great so hopefully sometime soon we find the right kitty. Thanks again!
- Sam, Jeremy, & Keelee

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Attached is a picture of our new dog Rodney! He came to us at 2 and 1/2 years old.  He currently weighs 31 pounds and is as sweet as can be! We think he's a golden retriever/terrier mix. Lucy and Mo are happy to have a new pack member!
- Pam Kasper

Hi PAWS!
Dot is doing so well with her new brother, Morrissey, and sister, Grace! Dot has more energy than any kitty I've ever had, and she's helping to keep my two older cats young. She also has a ravenous appetite, so it's a good thing she stays active to work it all off. It's a blessing to bring another pet (more like a child!) into our home.
Thanks!
- Beth Lee

Dear PAWS Chicago,
We just wanted to let you know that Joanie and Astro are doing great!  Their personalities work very well together, as Astro is spunky and energetic, while Joanie is more laid back and contemplative. They have much fun chasing each other around the house while hunting catnip mice and laser lights. It's especially adorable to catch them grooming each other every so often. We
love them so much. Best, Sapna & Bob

Dear PAWS Chicago,
It seems that Mr. Jacob has settled nicely in our home. He must have owned a cat before, because he and our cat Watson are getting along just fine.  The door to the bedroom has only hissed a couple of times. We're hoping to have Jacob in our lives for many years to come. Thanks so much for everything. We're really lucky to have found such a wonderful dog. He's so well trained that he even gathers

up his toys at the end of the day and puts them in his bed! Thanks again!  - Su Maneck (along with Mindi, Molly, Matt & Marty, too!)

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Clara is home!  We never doubted for a minute that Clara wouldn't become a permanent part of our family.  We have had a virtual love fest with family members.  She is working very hard with the trainer you recommended named Curtis, and he is working very hard with us.  (We are going to adopt the trainer Curtis next!)  Clara's name will remain Clara; we feel she has had enough changes in her life
and does not need to get used to another name.  As you see, she loves the snow and rolls around in it having a good time!  Clara is so loved.  We feel blessed to have her and cannot imagine life without her.  We thank you for Clara. - The Aronsons (Clara's family)

Hello PAWS,
It has been almost a year since Charlie became part of our family (PAWS name Harrison), and I just wanted to send you a quick update on how he is doing. Charlie turned out to be a great dog. Even though he still has a very selective hearing and a "I am kind a busy" attitude at times, we cannot even imagine what we were doing before "Charlie times". He is (as a true terrier mix) very energetic, curious, and playful. He loves to go for long walks, run, fetch, and swim. But when he has a minute of free time, he does not mind snuggling or getting belly rubs. Attached is a picture of him checking on the neighborhood through the window - one of the jobs that he takes very seriously. Thanks for all you are doing. - Andrew and Svetlana Corr

Hi PAWS,
Thank you so much for our little Spirit (PAWS name Maddie). We love her so much. She has made herself right at home and is coming along very well. She is almost completely potty-trained. We couldn't have gotten a better friend for life. Thanks again!
- Dianne and Ken Muehlfelder and Family

Hi PAWS Chicago,
We adopted Rose from you back in November of 2005. She is a Hurricane Katrina rescue. I just wanted to give you a update, letting you know she is doing just wonderful. She loves to play ball, take walks, take car rides, and play in the backyard.  Rosie sends her love to all of you, and thank you for putting her in our life!
- Carol Huntowski

Dear Everyone at PAWS,
I finally got the pictures developed of Rusty (PAWS name Marty Rusty) and Chloe (our original dog). I have attached the best of the bunch. As you will see, these two characters are inseparable! They do everything together - eat, sleep, play, watch TV, etc. I cannot remember what our lives were like before we found Rusty, but it must have been pretty boring! Rusty and Chloe have graduated the PetsMart Beginner
Obedience classes and we will start the next class in March. Our true test will be this summer when camping season starts. I hope Rusty likes to camp - Chloe does! He makes our family whole and we would be lost without him. We all love him very much. - Melissa Reno

Dear PAWS Chicago,
I am happy to report that Otis is fitting in with Asia (my first cat) most of the time and with me all of the time. When he first came home with me, he was so stressed -- weak, sad eyes, and creaky joints. You can imagine how pleased I was the first time he jumped down from my lap and the next day he jumped up! Now after a few weeks, he is running and jumping like a teenager. He and Asia have pretty much sorted out

who rules where and they are starting to share. No one can tell that Otis is 14 years old and 8 years older than Asia when you see them running across the floor chasing a ball. I would suggest to anyone looking for a companion cat, either for oneself or for another cat, to consider a Senior Citizen cat. Otis may not be a playful kitten, but there is nothing he doesn't know about giving and receiving affection. He's a real treasure. - Jeri DiGiulio

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Ringo is doing great! He's grown into the sweetest dog.
He loves to play play play all day; fetch is his all time favorite. He also loves to settle down for some serious snuggles at the end of the day. Adopting him was one of the best decisions we ever made. As you can tell by the picture, he never did grow into those ears, but that's part of
what we love about him. Thanks!  Nicole & Steve

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Lois Lane (now known as Lightshade to us) is doing fine and gets along with our other cat Nightshade. Both cats love to chase each other around the house, sit in the windows watching the cars go by, enjoy sunlight cat naps, and stalking the poor hamster by circling his cage! Both fetch paper balls, feather toys, catnip filled mouse, and a washcloth rabbit scented also in catnip. They have their own

beds which they sleep in side by side. To this day, they continue to happily socialize with the other cats in the building during their visits, and we expect no problems to ever arise. Thanks so much! - Samantha Rojas

Hello PAWS Chicago,
I am writing to give an update on Hutch (adopted out as Huntley). We adopted him in November, and he was perfect from the start. He loves to explore, bury anything he can find, and surprisingly has shown a love for healthy foods. Instead of dog treats, he seems to prefer carrots, lettuce, and tomatoes. When he's not exploring, he loves to curl up on the couch or bed and watch TV. He is a happy and healthy
puppy all around. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to give Hutch a happy home through PAWS, and we hope to someday do the same for another! Thanks, PAWS!
- Tim and Ashlee

Hi PAWS,
I am just reporting with an update on Marney. She is so gentle with our daughter Zoe and playing with our other dogs, Gladys and Jeb (mostly Gladys). I bought her a crate for the night, and we are working on training. She has a spiffy new red coat too! In other words, we love her and want to thank you for leading us to her and all of your work for the dogs. Thanks, Amy Zucker

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Moby is doing great. At first we thought we had a mellow, "intellectual"
dog on our hands, but within a few weeks his wacky side started to emerge! He loves doggie bagels, running up and down stairs, and especially being around people and other dogs. We celebrated his first birthday this week, which happens to be my birthday also! Thanks for everything.
- Jake Bancks

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Ella has been a dear addition to our family with our other dog named Marsha. (Ella is the one on the right!) She provides us with a calm presence and sweet disposition. We love her very much and am so grateful that our dog walker reached out and made the invitation to us. Ella has just completed her dog obedience training. It didn't take long before we had her

responding in kind to our commands to sit, come, stay, and avoid.  When Marsha is along walking with Ella and they spot another dog, look out, as the commotion is just about to begin. It is one wild barking extravaganza!  We make every effort to walk them separately but with the extreme cold temperatures we tend to take them together. Ella is a southern belle but she loves the cold and snow. Ella just plain and simple; she loves her walks and the outdoors. She is so full of joy and life and she has made our lives much richer. We are so thankful that Ella is in our lives and that organizations like PAWS exists to save the lives of dogs in need. Thank you PAWS for making a difference in our world. - Debbie, Nancy, Ella, and Marsha

Hi to all the kitties at PAWS!
Finally, I've gotten around to sending pictures of my new little critter now named Bailey (PAWS name Jameson). I hope you enjoy them. I love to see him as a poster kitty!
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Marion,
Prada is doing well; she's growing. At her last vet visit, she was 14 pounds! We have a follow up appointment next week, and we'll see if she's gotten bigger. As you can see from the pictures, she's losing her baby fat face and becoming more grown up. She's enrolled in puppy school and is very verbal in class. Our biggest challenge has been getting her to walk on the leash without dragging us down the

street when she sees something that attracts her attention. She is easily distracted. I'm really really happy with my decision to adopt Prada. Even with the trials of potty training, when I come home and see that face and that tail wagging like it's going to come loose from her body, it's all worth it! - Marion

Hi PAWS!
Indiana (PAWS name Fozzy) is doing great. He's growing fast and playing all the time. He gets lots of love and has many friends. We're very happy with him.
Thank you,
Chris & Peggysue

Hi PAWS -
Betty (PAWS name Lia) is doing great! She and my other cat named Humphrey are really getting along now and have gotten past any rough spots that were there in the beginning. I love being her "mom" and I'm so happy I found her at PAWS. Thank you again! I hope you all are staying warm in this cold weather!
- Rebecca

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Derby (formally known as Jeep) is doing well. He's very mischievous; he loves trash cans and dirty clothes. He also loves riding in the car, which is lucky for me because we go on lots of road trips. Derby and I have been trying to stay warm in this subzero Chicago weather, but it can be pretty tough. Because of this, he now has a green puffy vest to keep him warm on our walks. We plan on moving to a slightly warmer climate this
summer: Cincinnati. I think Derby will be happy to have his own yard where he can run and play!! Stay warm! - Emily and Derby

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Scoop (PAWS name Ann) is the perfect addition to our family. She is very mischievous but a lot fun! She has typical sibling relationships with our six year old male tabby and our ten year old husky. We are all having a blast. Thank you!
Jen

Hey PAWS!
Dillard is now known as Judd and is a whopping 25 pounds!  As you can see, he is doing just great.
Thanks for everything!
- Sandra Rowland

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Tyla is now known as Drama, and the Drama "Queen" O'Connor is doing great. I'm also trying to get involved with PAWS as a volunteer. I went last month to the meeting and hopefully can schedule time into my busy schedule to lend a hand. That's such a great experience. I also had Drama attend training classes. She's a star!
