Mabel Irene and Martha Marie Jeka came to their forever home on December 30th. Mabel is my sister Monica’s favorite and Monica does doggie aerobics with Mabel… Martha is very attached to my sister Becki and her cocker spaniel Ruby. Martha cries when Becki and Ruby leave and searchers the house for them for about an hour afterwards. They are quite fond of Cousins Linda and Joe from Dyer, Indiana – sleeping in their laps! Both enjoy a 5:00 a.m. walk with breakfast and a treat immediately following. A ‘sit’ with Mom Jeka once or twice a day – especially during the noon news and a walk with their walker at 12:30 or so! Spoiled? They don’t think so! The ‘girls’ have taken over the two la-z-boys in the house and the sofa – we adore them! Oh! Mabel Irene and Martha Marie also tunnel under the covers in their crate when they sleep – They are a joy an absolute joy!

- Clevonne M. Jeka

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at PAWS
for our new addition. His new name is GUS (PAWS name Ethan) and he is great. The picture that I have attached are of Gus with his big sister, Lady (8 years old). She treats him as if he were her son. I have another dog, Goldie (2 ½ years old) and she and Gus have a great time in our big yard. They play very nice together.  Thanks again for all of your help and for Gus!!!

- Amarilis Dyszczakowski
Hello to everyone at PAWS Chicago! We wanted to thank you for such a wonderful experience and to let you know that the mastiff mix we adopted, Guinness "Dudley" Lohman (formerly Dudley) is doing wonderful. We named him Guinness in honor of adopting him the day before St. Patrick's Day (March 16, 2007). He is now about 3 1/2 months old and is growing very well. He follows our 11 month old mix (a little bit of everything) Caesar around and they play all the time. He also gets along well with our friends' dogs and the other dogs in our puppy obedience classes. He loves to cuddle and be around people.  Thank you for everything you do.

- Allison, Adam, Caesar and Guinness Lohman

I adopted Tallulah (PAWS name Teeny) almost a year ago. I couldn't believe I found her, and I am thankful to this day that she is in my life. She is the most intelligent, friendly, sweet and healthy cat I have ever seen. She is docile and playful and trusting and silly all wrapped up in one adorable little package. We have a deep understanding of each other, and she knows that my touch and scent and voice mean trust and love. I can't thank PAWS enough for providing me with the perfect match that I've found in my wonderful littly furry soul mate. Thank you, PAWS!

- Dana Hildreth
Thought I would share a picture of Scout. It was his first time at Lincoln Park and the Beach! He's a digger. Enjoy!
- Jennifer and Ned
Ozzie (Paws name Wally) is doing great and plays well with Lola.
- Brian
Thought you might like to see how Monty's (PAWS name Montgomery) first 24 hours are going. We all slept wonderfully last night (passed out from activity!). Things are going well.. we'll talk soon.- Chris Snell
P.S. I hope it's O.K., but we'll be making a CUBS fan out of him... his favorite toy is a CUBS baseball, and he'll be getting a CUBS collar soon.
Dear PAWS,

Attached are some pictures of Pelou (pronounced Pillow, because he's always on top of pillows!), PAWS name Terrance. He has been and is still a joy to our home. He has brought so much warmth and happiness. He is always super excited to go for car rides! We want to thank you for all the work that you do around this city and for all the saves! We are strong supporters.
- Mauriel
Here are some pictures of the girls, Annie and Natalie. Please let me know if you ever want any more.

- Alexis
Attached is a picture of Sophia and Santa and Lucky (below) after his first haircut in a while. They are both doing fine.

Thanks

- Debbie

Odie is now Mickey and Sweet Pea is now Mishou.
We absolutely loving having the kitties in the house and are especially glad that we adopted them as a pair. They like playing together and comforting each other, something that was particularly evident the first few days we had them, when they were still getting used to out apartment, but they are also happy wandering around or napping on their own. They have made themselves a part of our morning routine, jumping up on our laps while we are reading the news, and have made several corners of the place their own.
We can't imagine life without them.

 Thanks, Alex Obregon

Things are going great with Ernie (and I'm not going to change his name...he
looks too much like an Ernie)!

- Micky
Ingrid is doing great! Yes, I kept the name...I really liked it. She is happy here...lots of great windows to look out of with squirrels and birds galore. She already bosses around my dog Sheba (a 50 pound Samoyed), as every right-minded cat would. They follow each other around and seem to enjoy each others' company. Sheba has the sense to let the cat rule, so all is peaceful in the household. Ingrid's been to the vet and had a good checkup, so really, everything is wonderful.
I Thanks for checking in...things couldn't be better.

- Cindi Mason
Since she's 7 years old, we didn't want her to have to learn a new name. We have just changed the spelling to Zooey, because (like Zooey Deschanel) she is enchanting, big-eyed, and wonderfully kooky. Zooey knew zero commands when she came to us, but she is learning quickly. Most of all, she is a love. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world is Couch Time! My fiancee says that she is for sure a daddy's girl, but she loves everybody she meets -- even our 3 cats -- and we feel more like family every day. We love our Zooey!

-- Dolph
Hi,
Melanie (renamed Chloe) is doing really well. She is the sweetest girl and very playful sometimes at 4am!!!
She is a lot more independent than when I first adopted her as she was a little clingy at first.
I love her sooo much!!!!!!!!
- Joanna
I have changed his name to Milo Watson Butler (PAWS name Watson). He is doing great, he seemed to settle in the first day.

Thanks!
Melissa
Hi Vicki! Sagan (formally Macy - and named after Carl Sagan) is doing very well! We just finished 8 weeks of puppy class about a month ago and she was the star pupil. She has gone from 11 lbs when I got her to 30, as of her last vet visit a few weeks ago. I just put in a fence around the backyard so she is now enjoying a lot more play time off leash, outside! The attached picture is from about a month ago...she has grown quite a
bit since then! When she is about a year old, I plan on adopting an adult dog to round
out the family. She is VERY social and loves other dogs.

- Tracie D. Mayfield
Here's a follow up on Rose. We adopted her on December 17, 2006 and changed her name to Copper. She has been doing wonderfully. She really enjoys her new family especially her "brother" Nathan, who is 6 1/2 years old. I

Thanks for the new family member!!

Sincerely,
Karolyn and Rich Cherepski

Mollie is now "Soleil" and she is doing amazingly. She's come out of her shell completely and is a true bundle of joy. She's actually going to be featured on barkerandmeowsky.com soon, and she comes in to the store with me and spends her days playing and socializing. We're wonderful!

Thanks Paul

Miss B is doing very well. I changed her name to Ramona, and we are getting along very well.

Thanks,
Julia

Hi, Marney is doing well. We are taking a basic obedience course at Call of the Wild where I took one of my collies. We will eventually do agility on the recommendation of the teacher as Marney is fast fast fast, and she would love it.
She plays like crazy with the collies. She is good with the kids that are here - we are working on jumping - and is quite popular at the park (she seems to love every human and dog). She will eat anything (food or non), so it is on our list of things we¹re working on, and she likes to get in the tub when there¹s no water in it. Basically, she is quite a character, and we love her. Thanks again for your help with the animals.
Amy Zucker
Jozo is absolutely wonderful. He is a constant companion. He's doubled in size since we first got him in January, but he is Maine Coon after all. Attached is a more recent photo of him with our other cat, Pasha. They are good buddies.

Best,
Amy & David Pavelich
Hello-
Christian, who we now call Gorbie, is doing great. He is the most curious cat we've ever met and gets into everything, including grocery bags, luggage, and drywall. To say he keeps us on our toes is an
understatement! He makes us laugh and keeps our other cat entertained. But he has a soft heart and loves to cuddle too. Here is a picture of him doing what he does best...playing with a cat toy!
Thanks again,
Chas Stoltz and Brian Kenned
His name is Bicho now (PAWS name Tic Tac). He's great.

- Jenn

Maggie (I did keep her name) is doing absolutely wonderful. She adapted to her new home almost immediately and now pretty much runs the place.

- Mark

Calvin--known formerly as Bernard--is doing well. He's settled into our home and seems very happy.

- Melissa

Zeus and Zelda- aka Deeter and Frenchie are doing fabulous!- They are like long lost best friends. They do everything together and our family loves them very much so! Thank you Paws- We are all very happy!

Thanks
The Pikes family and our zoo!
It took a couple months for Winnie (PAWS name Daisy) personality to really come out. She's a cuddler, although very energetic. She loves to walk, loves to look at stuff out the window, and can jump really high!
Thanks Annie

Here is "Twix" and one with his new friend, Candy, our family dog. Ebony, our other cat doesn't like the baby too much but Twix and Candy are buddies.

Twik a/k/a Little Dude is doing great. He's very playful and he seems content with us in his new home.

- Debra

Travinia is wonderful - an absolute gem. We love her very very much! She is the center of our world (as it should be)!
By the way, I did rename her Sofie and am attaching a picture of her napping in her cat bed.
Thanks -
Debbi
Thanks for checking on Prada, she's doing fantastic! She's a very enthusiastic, outgoing puppy. She loves to play and be rubbed. Here is a picture of her at 5 months old; she's grown quite a bit fromwhen we first brought her home. She has lots of toys and whenever we let her outside she grabs one to take with her. Before you know it the yard is full of her toys. We bring them back into the house but the very next time she goes out she comes to the door with a toy in her mouth.
- Marion Campbell
Both cats are re-named: Carlton has become Porter and Carmen is now Zoe, towhich they acclimated very quickly. The same can be said about their new home in general - they've taken to us and our apartment quicker than Sarah or I would have expected. Both are doing very, very well socially and health-wise. They get along a lot like a pair of siblings - sometimes
chasing each other around, sometimes doing their own thing, and often just hanging out & napping together.
Thanks, Mike and Sarah
Oscar is great! He is a dream come true...he really liked his name, so Ididn't change it...here he is!!!

TS!!!

- Ari

Henry (PAWS name Andy) and I are going to find a puppy obedience class It has been suggested to me that he become a media star. Looking at his photos even without seeing him perform in person, might convince
all of you of the same ! Any agents out there ??
So happy to have him
- Merle Gross
Chase (PAWS name Les) is doing excellent. We have recently started taking him to the beach. He just loves being able to run around freely. He hasn't started to go in the water yet but I think his time will come soon
enough. The best part is that we've met so many PAWS alumni. It is so
fun to meet all the PAWS people. - Abbie

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Jessie's new name is Ivo (pronounced "eevoh"). Ivo is the patron saint of orphans and lawyers, appropriate because we are both lawyers and he was an orphan. The attached photo is of Ivo and our nine year old lab mix, Chase.  The vet thought Ivo was too skinny, but Ivo has already gained some weight. He is energetic and assertive, but very smart and eager to learn. He's already sitting and laying down on command. He's also going to the bathroom on command and doing ok with his crate. He is a very affectionate puppy and wants lots of attention. If Ivo's siblings' parents are
interested, please feel free to send them our email. We'd love to get the dogs together in the future. - Stephanie

Nemo

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I've attached two pictures. The first picture is of Nemo, who I miss desperately. The other picture is of Cleo (PAWS name Clairese). Cleo is a little spark-plug who is always bounding around with energy and spunk. Even though I miss Nemo greatly, and there will always be an empty spot in my heart for him, the pain was lessened a bit by

Cleo (PAWS name Clairese)

the addition of Cleo Nema. She's quite crazy, and doesn't seem to care one bit that Bella, my other PAWS kitty, doesn't always want to play like she does. She gets body-slammed and then runs back for more. It's definitely entertaining and I think the two of them are starting to enjoy the other's company (even though they'll never tell me that). Sometimes during my shifts, I will bring Cleo to the CAC for kitty day care, and she seems to enjoy that too - everyone wants to adopt her when she's there! Thanks, Brett

Hi PAWS!
My name is Lou C. Fur, (PAWS name Dubois). I came to Chicago all the way from Mississippi. I am acclimating to the big city very well . I have lots of furry and feathered brothers and sisters, and I love to curl up and sleep with them. I used to kick my sister Pandora out of her bed, so Mom bought us a bigger one, now we share. Recently we
had a new brother move in, mom calls him a "dog." I'm not sure what that is but he's small like me and we have lots of fun. Mom keeps trying to catch us being still to take a picture but we haven't given her a chance yet. All in all I'm one happy kitty; I purr all the time! Thank you PAWS for rescuing me from Waveland and giving me a chance at having a good life!
Lou Figueroa  =^..^=

Hi PAWS Chicago,
We are very happy with Kiley (PAWS name Hannah). She is a great pup and a lot of fun to have around the house. Kiley is going to start training on the 7th of April. The kids, Tim and Katie, love her and she misses them whenever they go to school or leave the house. I'm very glad we adopted through PAWS rather then getting a new puppy. Thank you again! - John and Stephanie

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I have attached a fun picture of Rodney from last weekend. One of our other dogs, Mo, is right behind him. They're best friends.
Pam Kasper

Hello PAWS,
We are glad to report Shady (PAWS name Natasha) is having a great time in her new home. She has been with us since February 15th. She is a rambunctious, adventurous, loving cat. KC, our six year old Doberman Pincher just loves her, and she just loves playing with him, mimicking everything he does. She almost thinks she’s a dog, with how much she loves to play fetch with her ball. We'd like to

thank PAWS for the new addition to the family.  Sincerely,The Ritzenthaler Family

me, Roxy, helping out
my mom at work

Hello PAWS Chicago,
My family and I wanted to thank the PAWS organization for the opportunity to adopt Roxy (PAWS name Foxy). My partner and son have fallen completely head over heels in love and I can honestly say so have I. She is a wonderful addition to our family and is greatly loved. I also wanted you to know that I work for Sunrise Senior Living and Roxy is the new house dog!  She gets to come to

my typical work day,
meeting new friends!

work with me every day, and the residents are loving the time she is there. I have enclosed some pictures of Roxy and the residents and hope you will enjoy them. Thank you again for all that you do, and my family and I will continue our support of your wonderful work.
Sincerely, Meredith, Robyn, Jack, and Roxy

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Dustin (now known as Diesel D. Campos), the two month old mastiff mix adopted I adopted this past Saturday is doing very well. He is still very shy but is slowly acclimating. (He's still young.) He gets along magically with my one year old cocker spaniel named Sammy. He follows and pesters Sammy nonstop, and Sammy is a great, patient older brother. Dustin was at PAWS with his three
brothers: Dudley, Ezra, and Ethan. It would be great if their new owners could contact me to arrange a play date for the brothers sometime in the future. I usually take my dogs to the dog park on Lawrence on the north side and to the dog beach on Wilson in Chicago. Though Dustin is very loved, I think he'd still love to see his brothers. - Norma Campos

Dear PAWS Chicago,
I adopted Dill on February 20th and am happy to report that he is doing great. I really couldn't have asked for a better dog. He has adjusted just fine and having no problems. His new name is now Halas and he currently weighs 20 lbs. I included a fairly recent photo of him with my other dog Raven. I am happy to report they get along great. Sincerely, Kyle Huizinga

Hi PAWS Chicago,
It's me Harry. I have only been in my new home for about a week, and I am getting so much love from both my parents and siblings. My brother Jack the cat and I are really digging each other as you can see in this picture. I love to give him kisses. My sister Wendy (another dog like me) likes to clean my ears. All of us here at the Downs house would like to thank you all so much for bringing us all
together. My mom says she feels like I have completed the family. - Harry (with help typing from mom, Karen Downs)

Hello PAWS Chicago,
I Have attached a picture of Helena.  Now we call her Bella. As you can see, she and my other cat have really hit it off and are the best of friends! =)  Bella has made herself right at home. Thanks for everything, Adele

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Barney is doing great! His first birthday less than a month away and he's just about done growing. He has recently learned how to jog on a leash and is very excited for the Spring-time weather so we can all go outside and play more! We are so grateful to have Barney in our lives and look forward to many years to come. Thanks again PAWS!
Jill Lindsay & Rich Joseph

Hello PAWS Chicago,
Buster (PAWS name Baloo) is great, and I really am happy that I decided that he was the one. He's doing well, and has adjusted to the dogs and the apartment very well.
Sincerely,
Conor J. FitzSimmons

Good Afternoon!
We wanted to report that all is well with Ginger. She and the baby are getting along famously and she is settling into the house quite well. A few potty accidents here and there and a few leather casualties (belt and shoe) - but otherwise we are coming out of our shell and having a great time getting to know our new routines, home and neighborhood. We still haven't heard her "voice" - not one
peep since we brought her home, but perhaps with time we'll get her talking. All in all she is a wonderful addition to our home and family. Thank you again for finding her and helping her on her way to our home. Best Regards, Scott

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I was finally able to get the kids to sit down with Hardy for a picture!  We just moved into our new home and everyone loves it. Hardy is growing up fast. He is a big part of our family and we all love him.
- Linda Dobson

Hi PAWS,
Margie (PAWS named Aphrodite) is just a little over a year know. She's filled out to a whopping 29.8 pounds. She is doing great and loving her new home. Margie is looking forward to spring and summer time so she can stop getting so dirty, although she loved the snow more then anything. Margie is also looking forward to lakefront runs and lounging on the porch in the sun. Margie is sound
asleep in this picture, however this is not very normal; most often you will find her barking at her mom and dad for attention. Margie may love her Mommy and Daddy, but her one true love is a Kong full of ice cubes, Trader Joe's treats, and most importantly peanut butter! - Daniel Webber

Hi PAWS,
We just wanted to let you know how Suzie (known around her home as Suzie Q) is doing. Well she is doing just perfect! We are so glad that we adopted her. Suzie Q loves my daughter Katie; everywhere Katie goes, Suzie Q is right there next to her every step of the way. Suzie Q also loves to sleep at the end of Katie's feet. Whenever Katie goes to a friend’s house to sleep over, Suzie Q always goes to Katie's door and

starts to wag her tail. Suzie Q is also happy that she gets a big fenced in yard to run around in and chase balls. She loves it when she gets a new toy because she just loves playing with it and then she tears it into pieces. Suzie Q’s first Christmas with us was wonderful. She got a lot of new toys and she loved unwrapping them! It was the best. Now we can not wait until summer. Once again we cannot thank you enough for Suzie Q! - Tony, Debbie, and Katie

Hello PAWS Chicago,
I adopted at the Dogs on Damen event in 2006, and wanted to share a photo of Potter the Chihuahua mix who went home with me that
fateful day. This is a picture of Potter Pie in his finery with Santa. Potter and his big brother, Mr. Chan (a chow-basset mix, found as a stray near death in Wisconsin) attended the Chicago Botanic Garden's Reindog Parade in early December (an event that I created
when I was an executive at the Garden). Everyone in this household loves PAWS and is so proud of the work you all do for our animal friends. And humans, too!  Best, Anne-Marie

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Just checking in to tell you about Libi. We have changed her name to Eleanor but we call her Ellie for short. She is just the most wonderful and polite cat. She is very affectionate and loving and having her with me really completes my life and home here in Chicago. She is just the most laid back cat and loves to be cuddled at night but she also is very curious and usually you can hear her

shuffling about under the bed. This is a picture of her under my duvet...she loves it under there. - Thilani

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I have attached a picture of Barrett (PAWS name Dodger). Glad to hear his brother Brooklyn was adopted. It was a hard choice between the two; I wish I could have adopted them both. Barrett has turned out to be quite the special little guy. I would describe his personality as rather unflappable: nothing seems to phase him. He is the first cat I have known who doesn't mind the water or
getting wet. He is a repeated "jump in the full tub" offender. He has done a great job at acclimating himself with his two new older brothers, consistent chase sessions every morning and night. I have since retired my alarm clock. Thank you to everyone at PAWS and especially Laura for her help.  Regards,  Victor, Laura & Riley Stebbins

Hi PAWS Chicago,
All is well with our new pup. His name has been changed to Reggie (former PAWS name Jasper). He and our other dog, Max, get along great and spend plenty of time playing together and keeping each other company while we're gone. Reggie is going to be starting obedience training in the next few weeks. Thanks! - Cynthia

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I'm proudly sending you this picture of Paul & Sebastian! They are doing great. Paul, I renamed to Oliver, and Sebastian is still the same. I am crazy about them, and they have certainly added quite a bit of spice to the household! They are the best of friends, and I am so happy to have them. They are eating very well and truly seem very well adjusted. Thank you! - Catharine

Hi PAWS! I just wanted to let you know that Birdie is doing great in her new home and that we are enjoying her energetic and loving personality. We have decided to keep her name the same as it just seems to fit her personality. She gets along very well with our other cat, Sammy. They spend their time washing one another, wrestling, and sleeping together. Thanks for helping us find the right kitty. Sincerely, Emily Hendel

me, Ende, helping out my parents

Dear PAWS Chicago,
How are you? How are things at PAWS? It's me: your old friend, Ende. I am fine, and I love my forever home. There are a lot of cats here. I don't know how many because I can't count. There is also a big dog named Daisy. She always tries to steal my bed. Here is a picture of her doing just that.  I also attached a picture of me too. In this picture, I am helping out in the office! Thank you and all the people at PAWS for taking care of me and helping me find my home.
Love, Ende
