Clinic Manager

PAWS Chicago Lurie Family Spay / Neuter Clinic is expanding. We are looking for a Full Time Clinic Manager who will be responsible for managing the Daily Operations of one of the nations largest free Spay / Neuter Clinics. This position is responsible for the following:

* A high level of customer service in all of our contacts and communications with our customers.

* Achieving our Surgery goals - this requires pro-active management of the daily appointment schedule and show rate trends.

* Achieving the Revenue and Expense Budgetary Goals for the Clinic. This also includes the accuracy and integrity of the daily and monthly reporting requirements for the clinic.

* Motivating and Managing a Professional Staff. This requires hiring and retainment of the key personnel that support the Veterinarians and clinic operation. Responsible for the integration of Volunteers in specific areas of the clinic.

* Inventory Management of all the supplies utilized by the Clinic.

This is a full time exempt position with a 4 day work week (including one weekend day). We are looking for an individual with exceptional communications skills who is highly organized, results driven, and can manage effectively in a dynamic environment. 4 year degree or equivalent and previous management experience required. Director of Major Gifts

PAWS Chicago, the Midwest’s largest, No Kill, humane organization, is seeking a Director of Major Gifts to secure significant new and increased financial resources from individuals, family and professional foundations and corporations to help advance PAWS Chicago’s mission to build a No Kill city.

The Director of Major Gifts will serve as an externally focused member of the management team, while working closely with PAWS Chicago’s founder and collaborating with a Development team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and completely manage, from start to finish, all aspects of high-level funding relationships. This includes the entire process - donor research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship - in order to create and sustain relationships with PAWS Chicago major donors

  • Oversee and prepare various written materials associated with major donor relationships – letters, proposals and briefing documents

  • Responsible for regular contact with major donors through telephone, email and mail correspondence, as well as in-person meetings

  • Develop budgets and goals for expanding the major gifts program, with a goal of 150-200 personal donor and prospect contacts per year, within the first three years

  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge software to build a comprehensive tracking system for all major gift donors prospect information

  • Manage a Major Gifts Committee, once put in place

  • Manage and train all board members recruited to help solicit major gifts

  • Work closely with the Gift Records Manager on all recognition in PAWS Chicago publications and at various events and activities

  • Participate in the overall planning and execution of the endowment campaign

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature, disciplined, self-starting leader who is able to set objectives, activate plans and manage the progress and performance of major gifts fundraising

  • Outstanding written and personal communication skills, with great attention to details

  • Ability to engage and build long-term relationships with donors. A proven track-record of soliciting and closing major gifts is required

  • Ability to maintain a flexible, externally focused work schedule

  • Capital campaign management experience preferred

  • Motivated, energetic team player who can engage and inspire board members

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of seven years of major gifts fundraising experience

  • A genuine interest in, and desire to learn more about animal welfare and the No Kill movement

Shelter Medicine Veterinarian

This part time position (20 hours per week) entails working with PAWS Chicago support staff to ensure that all of the pre-adoption medical needs of our rescue animals are met. Part-time Recovery Technician

Help recover animals exiting the surgical suite. You will clean ears, clip nails and extubate dogs and cats. Prepare supplies for surgery and be responsible for laundry and cleaning of work area and equipment as well as answer phones and assist with customer check-ins. No previous experience necessary - but helpful. Must be able to work sitting on ground, lift 40lbs and be willing to get dirty! Full Time & Part-time/Fill-in Animal Care Giver

Caring for our adoptable animals is one of the most important roles at PAWS Chicago. Animal Care Givers play a crucial role in the physical, emotional and medical needs of PAWS Chicago animals. We are looking for hard-working, reliable and animal-loving individuals to serve in a part time/fill-in role caring for the adoptable animals at our 3516 West 26th Street location and our new location at 1997 N Clybourn. This position is on an as-needed basis and will likely include weekends and/or holidays. Any candidate must be willing to clean all animal rooms/common areas, walk and socialize animals, dispense medication as needed and other tasks as assigned.
