Hello, I'm Bontebok
Bontebok fits right in with our furry family. His favorite activities include sleeping, chasing his friends at the dog park, and booping noses with his cat siblings.
Bontebok's Story
We adopted Bontebok a little over two months ago and...well...WE LOVE HIM!
We kept his name because he knew it really well, but we call him B, Bonte-butt, and BonBon as well. His anxiety was pretty terrible for the first few weeks with a lot of submissive peeing issues, but now that he's gotten into a routine he's doing much better. We tried a training class, but the other people and dogs made him nervous and he refused to listen. We do training exercises everyday to build his confidence and he gets three or more walks as well.
A visit to the dog park is a must at least three times a week. If you could let the behaviorist (I don't remember his name...Paul, maybe. He has an accent.) know that he is doing really well, I'd appreciate it. We've weaned him off of some of his anxiety medication and it has helped tremendously. He gets two calming treats daily which help as well. I've included a bunch of pictures. He is no longer afraid of eye contact and he greets strangers when we're on walks. Loud noises and random sources of moment still make him very anxious, but he's getting better.

B loves taking up the entire bed at night, and making sure that we are showered in kisses whenever possible. He will do anything for string cheese; we've taught him high five and jump on command. Soon, Bontebok will be starting daycare during the week where he will participate in agility courses. We are so happy that we were able to make him a part of our family!
