PAWS Chicago accepts a limited number of high school interns each semester at our Medical Center and Lincoln Park Adoption Center. High school interns have the unique ability to independently assist at our facilities, helping with cleaning, shelter chores, feeding and walking dogs - and much more!
To participate in the high school internship program, the student must be part of an existing formalized job-readiness and career-minded program managed by a school or community organization. Students need to be at 16 years of age and able to commit to a recurring weekday schedule (between 8a – 6pm). There will be a minimum hour & schedule requirement that will determined between the program administrator and Volunteer Team contact if the intern is hired.
If you are a program administrator interested in partnering with PAWS Chicago or would like more information, please email internships@pawschicago.org.
This role is only available in-person.
Please note that all PAWS Chicago internships are unpaid.
