Gary's Story

Gary is a real go getter! Walks? Training? Treats? That’s a triple yes from this energetic, smart and spunky guy! His body may be small but his personality is super size! As the smart and independent guy that he is, Gary likes things on his terms. His foster reported that he’s always up for a walk and he lets you know when he wants pets and cuddles. And when he is - Gary burrows his his sweet, adorable face under your arm which is extra cute! Gary keeps his eye and ears on all the comings and goings around him and hopes for a quiet home in a quiet, low traffic neighborhood so he can relax when he’s ready. His foster also noted that Gary loved training and training games! His favorite treats are chicken and ham! He’d love a forever home with a steady supply! Add some cozy blankets to burrow into and your walking shoes at the ready and Gary gives his approval!

Are you an active person able to give a dog physical and mental exercise? Do you live in a low traffic neighborhood and have a private entrance? You could be Gary’s perfect match and he’s excited to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center:

1. Please start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3. Finally, schedule an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center! During your appointment, you’ll be able to meet all currently adoptable animals at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center and walk through the adoption process with our staff and volunteers. Appointments are not required but encouraged for a more efficient visit.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet during your first visit to the Adoption Center, please feel free to schedule another appointment.

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.
