Ella's Story
Ella is a sweet and affectionate girl who also knows the art of amusing herself (and you) by throwing her toys and tennis balls to herself! Ella is also a super smart pup and already knows lots of commands, like “Sit”, “Stay”, “Heel”, “Down”, “Touch”, and “Paw”, in fact she is a very quick study and will pick up tricks and new commands very swiftly, especially if her favourite treats are on the line!
Ella can be a little shy and timid meeting new people and in new situations, so would likely need a little time to warm up at her pace, but it doesn’t take her long, and then she’ll be ready to shower you with all her love, and if you’re slow at responding, she’ll sweetly give your hand a little nudge for more pets! Ella is also an active and energetic girl, so would likely do best with an adopter who has a more active lifestyle and is willing to be patient with her, while she gets to know them.
Are you Ella’s new family? Ella is very smart, well-mannered in the home, housebroken and has a sweet personality. She is self-sufficient and able to entertain herself playing with her toys! 2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our Adoption Center. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended for a more efficient visit!

Adoption Process
All PAWS Chicago dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have up-to-date shots based on age and arrival date.
