Moose's Story

Moose is a smart, adorable boy that would love to spend his time with you! Moose already has the command “Sit” down like a pro, especially for getting those yummy treats you won’t be able to resist giving him, because he’s just the cutest boy! Among Moose’s other favourite things are walks (he’s very calm on his walks) and car rides, and best of all a peanut butter-filled Kong!

Moose is super friendly, playful, sweet, and affectionate, and loves other dogs, so he would be extra stoked if his forever home came equipped with a doggy sibling too! Moose is also happy to chill at home for a few hours while you’re out, and he wouldn’t say ‘no’ to a treat-filled kong to while away the hours while you’re gone! And as for bedtime, this goofy boy loves nothing better than to snuggle all night and sleep right through to the morning!

Moose is still a fairly young pup, and while he has a handle on certain aspects of being a family pet, he would definitely benefit from some more training, which would include enrichment like puzzle feeders and Kongs, and plenty of positive reinforcement to help this sweet guy become the best boy. But as Moose is very food and treat-motivated, and a very quick learner, training with him is a cinch!

Are you Moose’s new family? Moose does great on walks, is loving, friendly and playful and has the makings of the perfect family pet, so if you’re a patient adopter, who’s happy to include some training to help this super boy become the best dog, then you’re just the home Moose is ready for!

Meet Moose

Moose can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center:

1. Please start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3. Finally, schedule an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center! During your appointment, you’ll be able to meet all currently adoptable animals at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center and walk through the adoption process with our staff and volunteers. Appointments are not required but encouraged for a more efficient visit.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet during your first visit to the Adoption Center, please feel free to schedule another appointment.

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.

Why Adopt?

Adoption is one of the best ways to save a life. Only a few thousand more adoptions each year in Chicago, a city of millions of people, and we will be a No Kill community! You can make a real difference.

At PAWS Chicago, we keep working to grow our operations to save more homeless pets. It's how we've gone from saving a few dozen to 5,000 pets a year. But it is our adopters who make the real magic happen by bringing these loving pets home. Adopt a pet and spread the word!

First Time Fostering? Learn More

There are many animals that need us today. Each foster family allow us to save more homeless pets by opening their home to a pet or litter in need of love and care for a few weeks. When we are able to send a pet or litter to foster, it frees up space in our Medical Center to bring in more pets in need.

Last year, our foster families took in 1,921 pets. Some needed a peaceful place to recover from illness or injury. Puppies and kittens just needed a bit of time in a home environment with good socialization so they could grow big enough to have their spay/neuter surgery before adoption. Other pets needed a calm and relaxing break from the stress of shelter life.
