Helena's Story
Helena is a super sweet ‘home ready’ gal, who’s housetrained, crate trained and knows a whole host of commands, like sit, stay, and come, among others. Helena’s perfect world would consist of a never-ending supply of treats, squeaky toys, and long walks in quiet neighbourhoods! Helena has lived with children and is very ‘dog-friendly’ and would be happy hanging out at doggy day care while you’re working.
Helena would do best in a calm environment, as she can be a bit nervous meeting new people and in new situations, so she is hoping her forever family can welcome her at her own pace and give her time to settle in. But it doesn’t take much time for her to warm up and then she can show you her affectionate side! And Helena would definitely thrive if her new family could continue positive reinforcement training and enrichment activities, like snuffle mats and Kongs, (as she is very food motivated) which would also help build a great relationship with her new family.

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our Adoption Center. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended for a more efficient visit!
